Ortensia Apartments by Wonderful Italy

Abbiamo soggiornato in un appartamento prenotato tramite Booking e gestito da Wonderful Italy. La casa è molto carina: moderna, con mobili nuovi, fuochi a induzione e dotata di pentole e stoviglie (anche se in quantità limitata). Tutto è ben tenuto e in buone condizioni. Lenzuola pulite, abbondanza di asciugamani e aria condizionata efficiente, che è stata particolarmente gradita. Il vero punto di forza è il giardino esterno che circonda l'intero appartamento: un angolo verde piacevole e rilassante. Anche la posizione è ottima per esplorare la Sicilia orientale, sia in direzione Taormina sia verso Siracusa.

Qualche aspetto negativo, alcuni facilmente risolvibili, altri meno, hanno un po’ penalizzato l’esperienza. Ad esempio, la caldaia ha uno sfiato diretto verso la veranda, per cui ogni volta che si apre l’acqua calda si avverte un forte odore di gas. Le pulizie non erano all’altezza: abbiamo trovato ragnatele e sporco per terra in diverse zone. Alcuni oggetti risultavano rotti (es. le zanzariere) o mancanti. Va però sottolineato che il team di Wonderful Italy si è dimostrato sempre disponibile ed efficiente: ogni inconveniente è stato gestito tempestivamente. Un ringraziamento particolare a Danilo, che ci ha seguito con grande professionalità e attenzione, risolvendo prontamente ogni nostra richiesta. Un altro punto da considerare è il parcheggio: il box disponibile non è molto comodo da utilizzare. Inoltre, pur essendo a circa 100 metri dal mare, è praticamente impossibile accedervi se non previo pagamento: il lungomare è occupato da lidi privati e non esistono passaggi liberi nemmeno per un semplice tuffo. Un vero peccato. Detto ciò, la Sicilia resta una terra meravigliosa, piena di luoghi straordinari tra mare, cultura e natura. Spostarsi di qualche chilometro in più per godersi spiagge libere o borghi autentici ne vale sicuramente la pena. Nel complesso, nonostante qualche pecca, siamo stati molto bene.

Posizione, ampiezza, cucina, balconi. Lavatrice ben funzionante, ottimi set di asciugamani ben puliti e morbidi. Armadi e appendini a disposizione. Quiete nonostante i tanti lidi a pochi metri.

Gli host non hanno saputo accoglierci: ho pagato un late check in e ho dovuto attendere fuori oltre mezz'ora; la casa pulita ma non rinfrescata nè arieggiata, caldissimo e scarichi maleodoranti. Funzionante un solo condizionatore. Mobili da esterno non puliti. Nemmeno dopo ripetuti solleciti ci hanno fornito il codice per restituire le chiavi. Abbiamo dovuto lasciarle su un tavolo per le scale comuni (e correre prima che si chiudesse il cancello automatico). Tv solo in camera, niente nell'ampio soggiorno cucina con 2 divani letto.

Achtung – von dieser Wohnung und dem Anbieter lieber die Finger lassen! Leider war dies mit Abstand die schlechteste Unterkunft, die wir je über Booking.com gebucht haben. Die Wohnung war in einem äußerst unhygienischen und vernachlässigten Zustand: – Auf dem Boden lagen überall Haare. – Die Dusche war im unteren Bereich stark verschimmelt und verschmutzt. – Das Bidet konnte wegen einer völlig verrosteten Armatur nicht benutzt werden. – Geschirr und Küchenutensilien waren schmutzig, die Küchenausstattung insgesamt sehr dürftig. – Die Matratze war völlig durchgelegen – man spürte jede einzelne Feder. – Unter der Matratze fanden wir Haare, Staub, Taschentücher und eine alte Socke – offenbar seit langer Zeit nicht gereinigt. Der Zustand der gesamten Wohnung war desolat. Obwohl uns eine Reinigung zugesagt wurde, wurde tatsächlich nichts gründlich gereinigt – es roch lediglich nach Putzmittel. Wir haben mehrfach versucht, über den Wohnungsbetreuer und den Anbieter Wonderful Italy eine Lösung zu finden – leider ohne Erfolg. Booking.com war sehr bemüht und hat mehrfach versucht, Wonderful Italy zu erreichen, jedoch ebenfalls nichts erreicht. Aus unserer Sicht ist diese Unterkunft nicht vermietbar – wir können sie absolut nicht empfehlen.

- Poor communication with Woderful Italy - Discovered a broken bed, which was only repaired after 3 nights - Missing iron and ironing board - only replaced after 3 nights - Stove - some panics didn't work - TV - bad quality of signal - impossible to watch anything. - Photos of the apartment must have been taken a few years ago - in its prime. Currently, the apartment looks abandoned - no maintenance has been done. - The apartment we booked didn't have the oven shown in the photos - misleading.

The staff and service from wonderful Italy was excellent, including the manual. Availability of off street parking was good. Very secure area. Basic amenities were all catered for. Great storage and air con in the bedroom . Balcony was a great place to relax. Location was good for exploring the east coast of sicily by car.

Uncomfortable mattress. Thin walls. Smells from the bathroom were overwhelming from the moment we arrived. The area around the apaetment is very run down, we felt intimidated when walking into the town of aci castello (we were informed by a tour guide this may only be the case in the off season). Bedroom light fitting seemed insecure. Limited public transport options other than hop on/off bus, definitely consider hiring a car.

Parking is not very accessible, and definitely not safe, as I had $1300 dollars of damage on my car because of the tightness of the walls and garage, especially when there’s other cars in the way,!or are not supposed to be there!

Good localisation, close to charming Aci Castello, the house is at closed area with a parking spot, air conditioning, well supplemented kitchen.

Sometimes you could smell sewage from the bathroom, I would supplement the apartment with more cleaning supplies like a mop and some basic cleaning products. More decorations in the bedroom would be nice (it felt empty). We were not able to use enclosed garden visible on the pictures as it is a part of other tenant. We were asked to leave the garden by the cleaning staff.
