Staffs are excellent

Food quality and menu must be improved. The resturant menu is boring with very limited choices. Breakfast is better but limited choices and hardly any vegetarian or vegan options available. Management needs to seriously consider upgrading the current resturant, and also must add a few more resturants or pop up stalls within the resort. Food hygiene was questionable, i got seriously ill by food poisoning during my stay on the very last day which was a bummer. Overall, its a good resort but requires improvement to justify the value for money.

It is wonderful, many varieties and they are all very freshly prepared. There even have Sarawak Laksa and Kolomee over the counter!

The service was excellent and the lobby is beautiful - it was so nice in fact we ended up spending time there rather than in our room. One helpful staff member (Abdul Rahman) even advised us to go to the tower at the north end of the hotel to see proboscis monkeys in the mornings. The dolphin tour arranged by the hotel was also very well done. It's a great location for watching the sunset, and there is hiking nearby at Santubong National Park and Permai Resort (RM30 entry fee). Most importantly though, the beds were incredibly comfortable - my wife and I both slept extremely well.

The entire time we were there, the hallways and stairwells were never cleaned. We know this because just outside our room, there were feces, and the stains remained for the entire five nights. Also, after it rained, there were puddles in the stairwell for days, making it slippery and potentially unsafe to take the stairs. Other than that, the dinner options are poor with the hotel restaurant having mediocre food, and very few other restaurants nearby. You also can't do takeaway as they have very strict rules about outside food. The beach is beautiful, but there is nowhere to get any shade other than under the hotel structure where birds nest and there is plenty of rubbish. Likewise, the pools are nice, but good luck getting any shade on a sunny day.

The beach was easy to access and kids pool was great.

Security officer, bell boy and reception (check in & check out) was stunning and very good in their job. However restaurant staff and housekeeping team should learn from the front desk. To smile more and greet guest. Chef at egg counter I know you are busy but please choose better words in speaking because I felt like I wasn't welcome in the hotel. (horizon cafe)
