River Trail Retreat

Nice spacious living room - good for a family or group of friends to wind down together after a day out. Bedrooms were also quite spacious and well-furnished. Air conditioning in the living room was good as it did get quite hot inside during the day.

Questionable cleanliness and quite a lot of weird things to note… Lots of bugs inside (both alive and not) when we arrived, including a dead moth on the bed and spiders in the bathroom and kitchen. The provided garbage bag was wet (leaving a puddle of water in the kitchen) upon arrival, as were the tea towels. There were ice cubes in the freezer with hairs embedded in them! There was something sharp in one of the beds (looked/felt like a thumbtack?) poking upwards through the sheets. The presence of a dryer but not washer seemed odd (the dryer didn’t work well anyway). The handle/lock to the back door was either faulty or incredibly difficult to operate as none of us could get it to open. And finally, some of the instructions provided in the house manual didn’t make sense (eg referring to a “laundry” despite there being no accessible/visible laundry on the property) - although the host did respond quickly to messages to clear things up.
