Sala Boutique Hotel

Highly recommended. Great stay on many levels. Flew into Male mid afternoon during a major rainstorm. The hotel had sent a hotel employee to great us and get us a taxi to the hotel. With the storm flooding the town streets and the airport at capacity of incoming flights the taxi wait was 1.5 hours. We would have been at a loss of what to do if not for the hotel who know how to get in line and then got us to the hotel. Then our resort gave us conflicting information on when our flight was. Thomas the owner was very helpful in contacting the resort to help get it sorted out. We then had to depart at 6am and Thomas called us a taxi which got us to the airport for our new flight. Oh, the room was very nice. A/C worked great, plenty of hot water, comfy bed, fast enough Wi-Fi and as other reviews have said, an excellent Thai restaurant right downstairs. Glad we booked it for another night when we return from the resort.

Central location, excellent pick-up service from the airport, really comfy bed and a bountiful breakfast! Great to stay in Male to experience a different side of the Maldives.

I had an unfortunate change in plans for my Maldives trip thanks to thunderstorms that kept me on the capital island instead of one of the other atolls. I booked Sala last minute while stuck under a building ledge to keep me from the rain. Thomas, one of the co-owners, immediately reached out to me to see where I was and sent one of his workers to bring me a big umbrella and helped me carry my luggage to the hotel through the flooded streets of Male. I was so grateful. The hotel was beautiful, cozy, and the room was perfect. I was so incredibly happy for a hot shower. Breakfast is included free of charge and was an amazing spread of baked goods (croissants, bread), eggs made any way requested, cured meats and cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice. I particularly loved the fresh fruit! Rose, the other co-owner, was super sweet and kind throughout my stay, giving me tips for things to see, placed to get certain goods, and helped me book a cab back to the airport (also included free of charge!). The hotel is a little pricier but well worth the cost for the luxury, the tasty breakfast, and the wonderful staff!

Always a pleasure to stay at Sala Boutique Hotel. Thomas and Rose, and their wonderful staff make everything run smoothly with smiles all around. With the airport ferry just an 8 minute walk away I was able to commute easily every day. During the evening you're minutes away from good food and coffee, or you can eat in if you fancy great Thai cuisine.
