CHILL SURFER HOSTEL

This is one of those special hostels where travelers hang out around the communal table, enjoying the best food in Morocco (literally), telling stories and making plans for more.

More toilets and power outlets would be welcomed.

The location was very close to the sea. The breakfast was actually pretty good, considering it was included in the price.

The hostel was filthy. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting and “cleaned” maybe once every two days – and even then, it was done poorly. There was only one bathroom on our floor shared between 10+ people. The beds were uncomfortable, and while the price initially seemed reasonable, they tack on charges for everything – even beers they hand to you as if they’re free. We joined one of their 'tours', which was a complete disappointment. During the surf lesson, the host actually shouted at us for just trying to enjoy ourselves. What was promised as a 4-hour trip turned into a gruelling 14-hour day, mostly spent tagging along while he hung out with friends. We were then charged €60 each for the “privilege,” which felt like a scam. Unless you’re an extremely seasoned traveller with zero expectations, avoid this place. There are far nicer hostels for the same price. On top of that, it seems to be operating illegally – no sign, no proper reception, and the host even admitted he was just renting it from a friend. Avoid at all costs.

It’s set up so well with a gorgeous roof terrace to be sociable and meet people and also small dorms for privacy.
