During almost three weeks of travel, this was the only property where we contacted Booking.com, requested assistance, looked for alternative accommodation and ultimately left before the end of our stay. We did not make this decision lightly. The main issues were: • Dirty and unpleasant pool water. • Extremely hot master bedroom despite running the air conditioning continuously. • Poor sleep due to heat and inadequate curtains/blinds. • Ants in the kitchen, multiple insect bites, and hygiene concerns. • Privacy concerns. • General maintenance issues throughout the property. The pool was one of the main reasons we booked this villa. Unfortunately, it was not in a condition that allowed us to enjoy and relax as expected. The master bedroom remained excessively hot throughout our stay. Regardless of whether the air-conditioning units were technically functioning, the room could not be cooled sufficiently for comfortable sleep. After several nights, we were exhausted. The kitchen looked attractive in the photos but was very unpleasant to use. It became extremely hot, ants appeared quickly around food, and we found mould/fungus inside the kettle and coffee machine. We washed all kitchen equipment before use. Our biggest concern was privacy. When we arrived, we were told that nobody lived on the property. However, during our stay it became apparent that a male staff member had access to facilities immediately adjacent to the bedroom area and was moving around outside the bedroom windows. Given the inadequate curtains and the excessive heat in the room, this significantly affected our comfort and sense of privacy. After our first night, we contacted Booking because we were already unhappy with the situation. We requested a refund for the two nights so that we could leave earlier. This request was refused by owner. We came to Seychelles to relax and finish our holiday on a positive note. Instead, we left the villa early.

The villa needs repairs and professional cleaning. Very old and unsafe equipment in the kitchen. Inconvenient location of the bedrooms on the second floor. The toilet and bathroom are in one of the bedrooms, and to get there from the other, you have to wake up the person who is sleeping there. You also need to renew the towels

From the moment we arrived, we felt enveloped in a sense of calm, privacy, and natural beauty. The villa is tucked away just enough to feel completely private, yet it’s close to everything you need—shops, local takeaways with delicious food, and a bus stop literally outside the gate. The location is unbeatable. Every evening, we watched the sun set into the ocean, and throughout the day we could spot marine life from the house itself—just sitting on one of the many terraces scattered around the property. Each corner felt like it had its own purpose: morning coffee with birdsong, an aperitif at dusk, dinner surrounded by tropical blooms, or simply lying back on a sunbed with the sea below. There’s a unique atmosphere here—a kind of dreamy blend between the elegance of the Italian Riviera and the lush, easygoing luxury of the tropics. The garden is beautifully kept, almost like a botanical hideaway, and the private pool was an unexpected indulgence—large, sparkling, and perfect for relaxing in the midday heat. Our host was wonderful—warm, thoughtful, and attentive. She checked in on us regularly to make sure we were comfortable, and shared great recommendations for excursions, restaurants, and local experiences. She could also help arrange taxis if needed, though we just took the bus, which stops right outside the property. Travelling that way added a nice touch of authenticity to the days we ventured out. We’re not rich by any means, but we believe in going all-in when we travel. To us, Blue Rhapsody felt like one of the best deals on Mahé. It’s more affordable than many four- or five-star hotels, and you pay by the number of guests, not the whole house—something we really appreciated. If you’re looking for a place that’s both luxurious and soulful, where every detail is thought through and you feel genuinely cared for, this is it.
