Nice pool, wonderful service, clean room and decent breakfast. Fig trees around the neighborhood and an outdoor gym next door.

There was a smell from the bathroom which especially bothered my partner. He then kept the window open which let mosquitos in. The mosque speakers are quite close so we were woken up at 5.30am, not a huge issue since we were going to be up at 6am anyway but may be for others.

A kind, hardworking family is behind this business. The room is basic which must be expected at this price point (when we booked, it was the best price in its class). Our double economy room had 2 twin beds instead of the full bed we were expecting, a flat sheet covering the mattress, a pillow, and a duvet cover to sleep under. The shower had good pressure and temperature but the drains did not work efficiently. The floors had been swept in all of the obvious places. There were a few mosquitos in the room at evening and morning, so we kept the doors closed and used AC. The guest house is situated in a neighborhood with all the attendant soundscapes: children playing exuberantly, parents consoling crying infants, the moving call to prayer, all of which can be heard as clearly as if they were just outside your door. The host Serder provides helpful information about the area and can recommend tours very respectfully and without pressuring the guest. Refreshing pool with lounge chairs in the sun or tables with seating in the shade. Overall, this guesthouse felt more like visiting family at their vacation home than staying at a hotel—what it lacks in polish and refinement it makes up for in warmth and hospitality. Location information: The house is about a 5 minute walk from the main dolmus stop, 12 minute walk from the town entrance to the travertines, and 2-10 minute walk to restaurants and shops in town. If you go to the travertines at sunrise, you must go to the South Gate as it’s the only one that opens early—this is a 40 minute walk or we paid 350 lira for a taxi.
