AUIt's a beautiful setting out of town. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and had all the basic requirements. It's probably 3.5 stars so it was fine for us. Everything worked.
Because it's out of town we had to wait a bit for a grab if we needed one. That's a really small issue and always ended up getting transport. We had a noisy inconsiderate and aggressive family who stayed up late on our last night which the owner addressed by calling the police. Not the owners fault and you can get that anywhere but we didn't get quiet until 2am. Apart from those small issues I would happily stay again. Maybe ask for a Villa further away from the common area in case.
AUWe only stayed one night at Spring Hill Cottages, but it’s been a real highlight of our trip so far and the best place we’ve stayed in Borneo. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with lush tropical gardens, wooden chalets on stilts and a stunning view of the mountains. We’re from Australia and didn’t know Tawau at all, but the owner went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They picked us up from the Tawau bus station after our bus journey from Sukau, then drove us into town for dinner, stopped at a supermarket so we could grab suppliesand even collected us again afterwards... it was incredibly generous and very much appreciated. This place is perfect for travellers looking for a peaceful, resort-like escape and a chance to rest and recharge during their Borneo adventures.

GBThe cabin was in a beautiful location with a mountain view. The owner went out of his way to help us several times. He drove us to and from a restaurant he recommended in Tawau for our dinner. He also drove us to the airport to make our early flight and prepared breakfast for us.

BEVery nice location with a beautiful view. Very cosy and clean cabins. Lots of tiny cosy decorations which gave it a personal touch. Personnel was very friendly and helped us doing our laundry.
