Wonderful apartement surounded by beautiful garden, quiet, very helpful hosts. Would definitely stay there again.

Spacious and comfortable apartment with a big living room • Large terrace – a unique and relaxing feature • Quiet location away from the city center, which added to the peaceful atmosphere • Beautiful building design – more like a cozy, two-story boutique property • Toilet has water spray/shattaf with good pressure • Bathroom includes both a large bathtub (looks high-tech) and a separate shower box • Fully equipped kitchen with all necessary cutlery and dishes, suitable for two • Alexandre, the host, was very sociable and helpful with restaurant and travel advice • Some rooms require stairs, but alternative options are available – we enjoyed the privacy it gave • Peaceful nights with nostalgic early morning sounds (birds chirping, distant dogs barking) • Would definitely return if visiting Almaty again

• Not a traditional hotel – more of a serviced apartment setup • Not located in the central city area (though that may be a plus for some) • No 24/7 reception – guests may need to call to have the door opened, especially after hours • Phone in the room didn’t work on the first night – possibly due to weak signal; would be much better if fixed • No facilities on site – no gym, no spa, no laundry service, and no help arranging laundry pickups • No washing machine in the apartment – be prepared for fully self-managed stay • Could be inconvenient if you don’t have a local phone or calling option

Property and room very nicely decorated, feels very homey and comfortably, nicely designed. Unlike almost all hotel options in Central Asia. Feels like you have totally stepped into your own world.

Staff extremely rude. I booked the prominently labeled "room with attached private sauna" and when I asked if I could use the sauna at 9am, they told me it wasn't possible, because checkout was 12pm, and it took 2 hours to get it going. When I pointed out that I could still use it for an hour from 11am-12pm, the manager was clearly annoyed, and then changed his argument, saying I had to pay 15,000 Tenge ($30) to use it. This was not listed anywhere in the room description or the email I got from booking.com, and feels really scammy -- they need to make it clear that there is a separate fee and what that fee is up front, not post-hoc. When I book a "room wit ha jacuzzi," for instance, I don't expect to pay extra for the jacuzzi. But the bigger issue is that the hotel manager was very aggressive and confrontational, claiming that this was my problem, even after I showed him that nothing in the materials I got from booking.com said I had to pay to use the sauna. He didn't acknowledge that he had any responsibility for the incorrect listing, and acted like I was being unreasonable. As a separate matter, I had contacted the hotel through booking.com before my arrival to ask if they could do something special (like put some flowers, maybe) as it was supposed to be a romantic couple's night. They read my message and didn't even bother to respond except with a "." - I have no problem if they can't do something extra, but they didn't even bother to answer my request. When I pointed that out to the manager, he didn't even apologize or admit they had messed up, even he clearly knew this had happened. Finally, I found and killed what looked like a bedbug. I didn't bother to tell the manager, because I wasn't interested dealing any more with someone so rude and unfriendly to his guests.
