GBBeautifull cottage. Amazing surroundings. Quiet, cosy and perfect. Had everything you needed including a lovely welcome pack of biscuits which were ideal for our arrival with a coffee.
We loved our stay. Maybe a bit out the way if you dont have a car but i understand there is a bus available that goes into town centre.

CAGBThe facilities at Close House Cottage were first rate. The hosts have provided all you need, and the whole place is a credit to them. If you are looking for a quiet holiday based in the countryside, then Close House should be top of the list.
GBBeautifully clean and appointed cottage, quiet and well located. No toiletries provided however, so don't forget to pack your shampoo and shower gel. Will hopefully re visit next year.
GBThe tranquility of the area, the fact that we could take our Maine Coon cat with us. The little extras were unexpected but delightful.
For myself I am mobility challenged at the moment so I was disappointed to find that I couldn't used the footpath across the fields to the local pub. However, when I am back to full health this would not be a challenge

Loved it all
GBWe loved the cottage, originally part of the larger house, so lots of room and very clean and tastefully decorated with everything we needed for a very pleasant stay. The price was good considering it was a bank holiday weekend and the host was very welcoming and friendly, but respectfully distant, even though we right next door.
The location is stunning, the cottage sits in the Howardian hills which are beautiful. The only thing, and this is very minor, be we would have liked to have been able to walk to a pub for an evening out, Easingwold, the nearest town is lovely, but it's a short drive away, not really walking distance. We did know this when we booked the cottage, but it was a last minute booking so we didn't do our homework. Not a reflection on the cottage, just a consideration.
