Kavee Transit Hotel

I liked staff. Pramosh contacted me thru whatsapp and helped to get to the place since I took public transport from Colombo to Hikkaduwa. Also Pramosh helped to plan my activities and helped me with a bike rental.

It would be great if stuff could clean floor once per couple of days due to the sand

Staff were outstanding and stayed available even though my flight was delayed until 4 in the morning. Very friendly staff, quiet and clean hotel, highly recommend :)

Perfect transit hotel

The personnel was very friendly and helpful. Helped us organize last minute transfer to aiport at 4am after our driver couln't come.

The place need a little clean up as we found a lot of cockroaches in the room (coming from the bathroom) but they moved us to another room emediately which was much appreciated.

Great value for money, really good if you’re transiting, additional bonus for the breakfast that is included in the price and welcome drink upon arrival. Also access to common area and a balcony is a plus.

Ac remote wasn’t working so it was freezing the whole night. The duvet was really thin so it’d be great to have an extra blanket in the room.

Arrival was in middle of night…….plan was to clean up, grab a few hours sleep, have a quick breakfast and head to Galle at 0730. This was achieved seamlessly, thanks to the staff at Kavee. Our expectations were exceeded

The staff was very friendly.

The water pressure was not good. We were hoping to have a hot shower after landing but the water came out from the shower head was like spitting. It was not really flowing. That was a disappointment. Also before we arrived, I messaged the owner about ordering a taxi for the following morning after checking-out as we had a train to catch. However, we waited for a long time for the taxi to show up. Not sure if he had called the service in advance or he just called on the spot. We almost missed our train. That was quite unpleasant.

Close to the airport and quiet. Nice and friendly stuff. Perfect for 1 night for transit. Breakfast was included and some water. Breakfast was ok but nothing special.

Mosquitos where horrible but that's more like the issues of a tropical island. So get some protection.

The staff were very welcoming and the property is just as listed. We stayed one night before a flight on else where. We could walk to the Main Street with lots of restaurants for dinner. The breakfast was provided for us before we had to leave for our flight which was really nice of the property to offer.

The only downside was the Tuk Tuk that was arranged for us to take us to the airport. We were told the price would be 800LKR and were picked up at the requested time in the morning. The whole ride we were harassed by the driver about paying more money and that the price wasn’t fair. We only had 1000LKR in cash left as we were leaving the country on the same day. We gave him this and he wasn’t very pleasant to us about the situation. I think we would have preferred to have arranged our own transport to the airport in the end because the harassment wasn’t worth it. I know this isn’t the hotels fault but it’s worth noting that it might be more peace of mind to book your own airport transfer.
