Arunika Prime Villa

The location and cleanliness of the villa was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

With the water system being battery operated you need to make sure the battery is fully charged or you can have issues flushing the toilet. Once fully charged no issues.

It is nice to have a private pool and the location of the villa is great (with the exception of the villas being located at the end of a dead end alleyway that you need to pass many aggressive dogs and that grab/gojek really struggle to find)

We were excited about our stay here but overall, it was quite disappointing. On arrival, our villa was very dirty - mascara on the mirror, finger prints all over the mirrors and tv, pool with dirt inside, marks on the floor, stains on the lounge, the benches were dirty and dusty, and hair (including large clumps)all over the floor. I asked for a brush and cleaned up all of the hair, only to find more hair in the bed. I started to wonder if the room had actually been cleaned so went and spoke to the staff who were friendly but seemed a bit frustrated that I was asking for the room to be cleaned. I felt very guilty about bothering them with this but I actually don’t think anyone cleaned the villa before we came in. The dogs next door would chase us up the alleyway which you need to use to exit. One was particularly aggressive which usually isn’t an issue with the dogs in Bali. I love dogs but it made it challenging to leave/return to the villa, and you can also hear them barking all night so if you’re a light sleeper, that would be a challenge. There was also dog poo everywhere on the pavement outside. On the first night, my husband slipped over on dog poo and when I notified the staff that there was dog poo at the door, they did not rectify until the following morning. Perhaps not the villas problem but it was right at the entry to the reception area. With so many beautiful places to stay, I wouldn’t recommend this villa unfortunately. I was very excited to stay here as the photos look beautiful but the lack of cleanliness was challenging. Beyond this, the build quality is quite low and there are some decisions of the build that were clearly made to cut corners. If this was advertised of as a low star, budget stay then it would be fine as it would align with expectations. But for the cost of the stay and for what you would expect based on the description/photos, I could not recommend.
