Ik ga deze review schrijven met het risico dat ik zeurderig of veel eisend over kom, maar ik denk dat het goed is om te weten wat je te wachten staat als je er voor kiest om hier te verblijven. Aller eerst: de locatie is geweldig! Het huis rif is prachtig, een 10/10. Mocht je ergens willen verblijven waar je niks anders wil doen dan snorkelen dan is dit de plek. Wij verbleven eigenlijk 4 nachten, maar zijn een dagje eerder weg gegaan en daar waren we erg blij mee. Het begon voor ons al met de aankomst op Waisai. Alle andere toeristen werden direct opgehaald door hun homestay, maar wij hebben 3 uur gewacht, terwijl we duidelijk contact hadden en Donald wist hoe laat we aankwamen. De hut is wat sober, je slaapt op de grond op een vochtig matras met een kuil er in. Er is geen douche. Lunch en dinner is elke dag hetzelfde en bestaat uit rijst, vis en kool. En de elektriciteit en de wifi zijn onbetrouwbaar. Wat ons vooral stoorde was dat wij de communicatie als onbetrouwbaar hebben ervaren, omdat afspraken op het laatste moment konden veranderen. Daarnaast is Donald de enige die enigszins Engels spreekt, dus als hij weg is (en dat is best vaak) en je geen internet hebt dan is het lastig om iets te ondernemen.

Nous avons passé 6 jours à Korbekwan Homestay. C’est de loin l’homestay que nous avons préféré pendant notre séjour à raja ampat. L’emplacement est magnifique avec un spot de snorkelling juste devant dont nous avons profité chaque jour. La nourriture était bonne. Nous avons même eu la chance de manger du poisson que nous sommes allés pêcher avec Donald dans l’après midi ! Les excursions n’étaient pas spécifier mais il a tout à fait été possible d’en faire en le demandant directement à Donald qui a su s’organiser pour répondre à nos attentes. De plus, les prix étaient raisonnables. La famille était très gentille. Nous recommandons vivement cet homestay.

Korbekwan Homestay is a dream! We stayed in one of their beautiful cabanas, with the most amazing house reef right at our doorstep. The reef is more beautiful and alive than we’ve seen on any snorkeling tours. There are tons of fish, the coral is very healthy, and to the right of the dock there are three incredible giant clams. We loved our time at Korbekwan. Waking up in the morning with the most peaceful scenery, nothing nearby, a beautiful green mountain in the back, the songs of bird of paradise, gorgeous blue water in front of you… and at night the most beautiful starry sky. The cabanas are simple, but have everything you need. Tours and boats were reasonably prized, the staff was extremely friendly, and the food was delicious. Highly highly recommended!

This place is pure magic. The accommodation itself is quite basic. But the host family is friendly, and the location is the best we've seen in Raja Ampat: it's in a fairly remote bay, with no other homestays or hotels around. The house reef is also fantastic: giant clams, reef sharks, cuttlefish, turtles, mantis shrimps, crabs, lobsters, starfish, octopus, ribbon eels, sea snakes, porcupine fish, stingrays, dolphins... and lots of healthy coral. When it gets dark, and no light sources, the stars and the Milky Way become clearly visible, and luminescent plankton are glowing in the water, it is incredibly magical. The host can take people to see the red bird-of-paradise which is a short trip I highly recommend. We also took a trip to Piaynemo but we found the snorkeling stop at Citrus Ridge the most beautiful. Korbekwan must be one of the most special places I've ever stayed at.

Korbekwa Homestay is a true gem in Raja Ampat! The location is absolutely stunning — surrounded by turquoise waters, coral reefs, and lush tropical nature. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to help and share local stories. The bungalows are simple but clean and comfortable, offering an authentic island experience. Every day started with a breathtaking sunrise over the ocean and ended with the sound of waves under the stars. The food was fresh and delicious, especially the fish and local dishes. Snorkeling just in front of the homestay was amazing — colorful corals and countless fish! It was a peaceful and unforgettable stay in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Highly recommended!

La famille est incroyablement gentille et pleine de petites attentions. Les fonds marins autour sont incroyables. La wifi proposée aux heures d'électricité est un vrai bonus. Le homestay est propre, la partie commune est agréable et conviviale. Les repas sont plus recherchés qu'ailleurs et très bons. Les excursions sont moins chères que la moyenne et ils essaient toujours de nous satisfaire même si la communication n'est pas forcément toujours évidente. Merci à Donald et ses frères et à sa maman pour ce merveilleux séjour.

Tout était bien juste attention il peut faire chaud dans les chambres.
