Tagaytay Rest House

We stayed during the Holy days, we were in the house for our entire stay. The location is just near the tourist spots in case you will consider going out. Our check-in/out was hassle-free. Ate Marie, who stays in the area, is very helpful and accommodating. All of our concerns were properly addressed.

I just had a little scratch on my arm when I bumped on the kitchen door due to the damaged screen casing.

The house is clean and the caretaker, Ate Marie, is very accommodating.

In the house, none.

Finding the place was easy, and check-in was easy as there was a caretaker who helped out with our daily needs. The house was spacious and so were the rooms. It was clean and well-maintained and perfect for big groups.

Internet was a challenge. The poor connection made our vacation less fun since a lot of our activities were somewhat centered on a good internet connection. The kitchen was not as complete as we hoped for as some basic items like a can opener were not available considering we were to cook for the New Year celebration. Blankets were thin, given it was the cold season, but it was good we brought our own. It would help to inform guests what they should bring or what is available.

Location was a little hard to find as it is a house inside an estate but that also makes it more safe and secure. Live-in caretaker was very very helpful. Living room/ kitchen/ downstairs area was well furnished (perhaps excessively so). Rooms are very big and spacious. Kitchen very well equipped.

1. No hot water. We were not informed of this in advance. When we wrote to the host to ask about this, she was not responsive. When the host got back to us, she argued that the listing did not explicitly say there was hot water, therefore we could not expect it. I noted the listing did not say there was electricity at the property either, but we expected that. She noted that the outdoor jacuzzi had hot water. I declined to bathe outdoors. The caretaker provided us a small portable water heater for us to heat water in the buckets in the bathrooms so we could bathe using water from the buckets. I used this and got a mild electric shock when I put my hand in the bucket of water to test the temperature. 2. Towels were only provided on request from the live in caretaker. However, we arrived late in the afternoon, went straight out for dinner, and by the time we came back, the caretaker had gone to sleep. It was only at this point, after our long journey, that we wanted to take showers and then discovered the lack of hot water and towels. The towels should just have been provided up front in the bedrooms. 3. Bedrooms very sparsely furnished. Master bedroom, for example, had one bed and one bedside table, that's it. It was otherwise a very large room. For such a large room, it would have been nice to have a table or desk. The bathroom lacked a mirror. It lacked any space to put toiletries, apart from the sink. In general the bedrooms were sparsely furnished. By contrast, the ground floor was excessively furnished - lots and lots of sofas, chairs, etc. We ended up moving some stuff upstairs to use and then moving it back down before we left. 4. I generally did not find the host very communicative or easy to talk to. 5. Internet was only accessible downstairs. Only one router and it was in the dining area, so the wifi was not useable upstairs. 6. Driveway is extremely steep and had a pillar in the centre of it, so driving in is a little difficult.

Spacious and very nice house. Very good out dooors areas as well.

Lack of heaters for showerwater inside, however the outdoor jacuzzi has one, if people want warm showers.

The house was spacious. Every room in the house has its own CR & balcony. There is a sofa beda located in the middle of the rooms in the 2nd floor. the caretaker Ate Marie was big help. The most important thing is they allowed dogs to stay inside the property.

They can improve by providing hot shower. You need a private car to go in out of the subdivsion since its a quite long walk from the gate.

The house is perfect. Beautiful.

Spacious, clean and beautiful

The property is perfect for family trips. It's very spacious and safe.

You need to have your own car because commuting will be difficult in this property since it's located in a high end and exclusive subdivision. Also, there are no shower heaters, it wasn't that much of a problem but hopefully they'll install heaters since Tagaytay is chilly especially at mornings.
