Gîte Détape Affaska

Ce gite permet de passer la nuit sous un toit et de prendre une douche chaude pendant une randonnée au départ de Chefchaouen. Après 8h de marche, c'est une halte bienvenue, et le personnel est souriant

les lits sont très durs, il ya une lampe très forte qui reste allumée toute la nuit en face de la fenetre de la chambre (qui n'a qu'un petit rideau), ce qui empeche de dormir, le coq qui réveille de bon matin...

I booked last minute, and was still treated like family despite catching the hosts off guard. Spectacular hiking right out the front door. A dinner, prepared for just me, was so good, and way more than I could eat. When I complimented a dish, they offered me more. This is truly a Mountain retreat, so be prepared for some rough road if you're self driving, but the views and the destination are more than worth it, and I made it without 4 wheel drive.

The beds weren't particularly comfy, as you might expect from this type of place. There was some noise at night, nothing too loud, but not the silence you might find in a place like this.

The lady who looked after us was kind and friendly and extremely accommodating. Having seen quince trees in her garden, we only mentioned that we enjoyed quince and she brought her own quince to the table for us to try. The dinner she made for us was the best food we have had so far in Morocco. She made us a beautiful lunch for our walk from Afaska to Akchour. We would encourage anybody to visit this haven. Two other guests at the lodge had arrived by car so it is possible to access this exceptional property without the GRUELLING 8 hour walk!

As in many country places there was quite a bit of rubbish strewn around the habitations.

Wonderfully and quietly situated in the Talassemtane national parc, perfect start for hikes. We thoroughly enjoyed the meals, offering variety abd cooked with local goods. The terrace has some fantastic views.
