Elderberry Farmhouse at Zenzen Gardens

Nice grounds

The farm house had no good air conditioning and it was very uncomfortable.

The location was absolutely beautiful. We loved beginning and ending our day outside on the back deck so we could either watch the sun over the mountains or see the millions of stars. It was also lots of fun to be able to walk to the wine tasting on the property. The farmhouse is also very large and can accomodate a lot of people comfortably.

The farmhouse isn't very private. There is a laundry area at one end of the house that is accessible to the hosts (but maybe others as well?). There were multiple times during our stay where our dog would go nuts and bark at the door to the laundry room, only for us to see someone in there starting a load. There is also a tent camping area in the backyard, two glamping tents, a small cottage and an RV parking section that all utilize two porta johns, that are directly in the backyard of this house. So there was just a lot more traffic and people walking right by the deck and windows than I ever anticipated. This probably wouldn't have been as big an issue had we not brought our dog who didn't appreciate strangers in and around the house at all times. Had we known it wasn't private, we would've made other arrangements for the pup. Also the doors and windows don't all close/lock. We felt totally safe and secure the whole time, but definitely an adjustment for city folks.

Beautiful property and views. Quiet.

The house smelled a little musty and could use some deep cleaning of kitchen cabinets with cobwebs. Also the front door was really hard to open due to it being older and warped.

Quiet countryside. So nice on a long trip to get away from standard hotel. Sit on the porch and relax. Laundry is handy too.

No a/c. They have a swamp cooler but at 95* it wasn’t cooling much. Fortunately it cooled off after dark and with the windows open we had a very comfortable sleep.
