The cottage is in a fantastic location - very easy to access by car and close to the wonderful Orrest Head and Windermere centre. It is also easy access to routes out to Ambleside/Hawkshead and the like. The rooms were well cleaned, the views from the windows were stunning, and each room had a very homely feel. We especially liked the sitting room, which had plenty of seating and a lovely modern aesthetic. The beds were very comfy, with plenty of pillows, and the estate was extremely quiet throughout the day and night. We had a lovely family holiday (2 adults, a toddler, and a dog) and would recommend anyone who is looking to stay in the area to consider Orrest Head Cottage.

The only nitpick is the lack of a baby gate. However, the doors are quite heavy, so we didn't have an issue.

The property was immaculate, comfortable, bright and spacious. Location was excellent, walking distance to Windermere and short drive to other areas (could probably have walked them but with young children we drove). The grounds were great to let the children play and dog play as well.

The living room was absolutely lovely, big windows made it feel huge. The kitchen had so many pots and pans etc we had everything we needed and more. The bedrooms were spacious and didn’t overheat in the night time. Comfiest beds and best duvets ever. The bathrooms were lovely too. So much storage for all clothes. Outside area got the sun all day. In a great location close to many shops, stones throw away from the bus/train station. Lots of wildlife, was nice sitting outside listening to birds over breakfast.

Nothing major. The doors are heavy that’s pretty much it.
