Oorlogs Kloof Mountain Retreat Montagu

We loved the unit - it surpassed our expectations. Our beds were made up beautifully with red roses from the climbing roses outside. The unit was tastefully furnished, had everything we needed in the kitchen - really really happy with all the kitchen appliances, crockery and cutlery. Loved the enamel kettle to use on the gas stove and was completed with enamel cups. The outside braai had wood and there were matches and a lighter in the kitchen drawers. Everything was in working order, clean and felt like we could stay forever. The view is gorgeous and it is so quiet and peaceful. The stacking doors makes for an indoor-outdoor living experience and we lounged around the pool and veranda on the warm days. It was not cold enough to start up the fireplace, but I can see how that would just be cozy in the cold, wet winter days. Nina is very kind and helpful. We felt taken care of the entire time and knew we could ask for help at any time. I would recommend this stay and would stay there again.

There was nothing that we disliked that much, that it is worth noting here. It should just be noted that the property is on a farm about 18km outside of Montagu with a 1.6km gravel road to travel on. This should not put you off though, just be prepared for it.

The setting in the mountains was breath takingly beautiful. It was peaceful, and it was wonderful to be in nature like this. The units were extremely clean and comfortable. The attention to detail was wonderful. The hosts were welcoming and very helpful.

This is certainly one of the nicest places we've ever stayed at. My wife and I often go on holiday but this one is truly memorable. We got much more then what we paid for. A real gem. The house, exquisite decor, beautiful scenery and friendly host Nina exceeded our expectations. If you love your own space and privacy, please visit--You won't be disappointed..... Just make sure you book a couple of days, as you'll regret not staying longer ❤️😁

Views were spectacular and the unit was beautiful. Lovely hiking trails. Private pool a huge bonus especially in the heat

Extremely hot and the fan wasn’t strong enough.

The views are breathtaking, the Unit location was perfect, and the patio is protected from the afternoon wind. Very neat and well maintained inside and out. The walking trails is a must do, the fauna and flora is a joy.

We were very happy with everything - our hosts are the best.
