Rose Thatch Cottage

The hot water was a problem when we arrived as well as when we left.

The place matched the pictures to a T. It felt very homely and had everything you needed. It was a 15 minute drive to the Meander and Howick Center. The property is very peaceful and private and perfect for much needed relaxation.

I didn't like that our stay was so short.

The property is beautiful, surrounded by nature and a small suburban area. It is a very quiet area and we were worried about making noise for the neighbours, but the cottage is quite sound-proof. The cottage was neat and cosy, the beds were very comfy and warm. There is a full kitchen, and even though we didn't cook it was well stocked with pots and pans, plates etc. We enjoyed the showers and bath, as well as the lounge area with the TV, where we spent most of our family time playing music and games. We wished we could have spent an entire week in this tranquil home, it was a true getaway for us.

There was a switch that was tripping the lights, so we were without power on the first night, but we managed until the next morning when the staff turned the mains back on. It wasn't a major problem for us, we are a very relaxed family, we continued with our evening and in the morning the power was back and we didn't use the switch which tripped the power again. We were satisfied with the management of the property and will be back again.
