There is a huge choice of accommodation in Sanur so I decided to keep it simple. Taman Bali is indeed a simple homestay with no pool. But it is excellent in what it does. Agus and his family are super hosts, warm and friendly. They can do laundry for you at low cost. Agus even lent me his bike for exploring and refused to take any payment. The room was clean and comfortable with good aircon. The bathroom was newly renovated, modern and efficient (Argus has maybe acted on some earlier reviews about the state of the bathrooms). There was a little patio outside with an open air kitchenette (good for keeping the room itself free of ants etc.) Breakfast was standard (as someone else mentioned, tell them if you want only the eggs, fruit and toast without the little sausages). From the website I see most rooms are inside the compound with nice patios to sit on. My room, No 5, was separate, down a little alley to the side of the compound. There was a strong iron gate with a padlock, then the patio, then the room door. So I felt perfectly safe. But it did mean the patio was enclosed and not a great place to sit out. The alley was busy in the day but quiet in the evening/night. If you think any of this would bother you, make sure you don't have room 5. Location was fine. About 10 mins walk to the beach and places to eat within 5 mins.

the hosts were amazing, they made my stay better. So helpful and kind! It is cozy, there are only 4 rooms I think, not noisy because in a small street. breakfast was good (but real bread would be appreciated) - if you are vegan, tell them because they will just cook sausages and eggs and serve you this everyday.

The bathroom definitely needs a refurb; it is a really weird set up, lots of space yet it is divided into 2: one room the wc and the shower (you basically wet the whole floor and wc when you take a shower) and then a random kitchen counter with a tiny basin and old mirror in the other (open ceiling on half of it so if it rains, it rains inside). Honestly, changing the WC seat would be the bare minimum - it costs nothing and it won't make the guest feel like they are sitting on mold. A few things could really be done so it looks a little better... The day that i checked in, it was raining and all the small streets around were completely flooded making it really difficult to access the home stay so careful if you come during rainy season.

Nice family owned homestay in a quiet neighbourhood. Breakfast was great, rooms are clean and the beds are comfy.

the room was comfortable and clean , the breakfast was delicious and the family that takes care of it is super lovely and friendly. location is very central and you can walk everywhere. the air on was good as well. really good value for money

The room is private and spacious with a comfy bed. It was clean, though the second day there was something sticky on the floor when I returned. Agus and his wife are both warm and welcoming and they accommodated me with a wonderful Breakfast to take with us early morning. There are some great little bars and restaurants just a short walk down the road.

The neighbour has a rooster and dogs. The rooster is on the other side of the fence and it crowed on and off all night long. This would set the dogs off who’d then bark. Unfortunately it meant very little sleep in am otherwise tranquil and peaceful homestay.
