Porta Messina Rooms

This was a really good location!

Wifi didn’t work and staff were rude and unhelpful. Bath has no plug to use it and all the taps leaked. There is no terrace or instructions for how to find the apartment door and get into the property

Big clean comfortable rooms - double bed in each room. Excellent location in upper city 5+ minute walk to main bus station (preferred travel from Catania if you’re staying in upper city) near cable car and main streets full of restaurants, shops and some attractions. Yes it’s on the main street, noisy at times but not too bad. Nuncio, the proprietor is an excellent communicator and it was easy to get into space - 3rd floor. Great cafe for morning coffee right downstairs.

Better water pressure in bathroom sink.

We hav Room No.1 (street-/ seaview) Big rooms. Comfortable bed. Hot water and good water pressure in the shower. Nice host. Nice view from the balcony. Big dinning table. Location close to center and bus terminal and telecabina. In general this is a rather old accommodation which would be very nice if you consider it as "original Sicilian rooms/homes", if there wasn't the list of tiny things of annoyment, which definitely keep room for improvement.

Very very noisy (people, shops, cars, dogs,...) Lots of mosquitos No kitchen, coffeemachine or kitchen supplies (like spoon, plates, etc...) You need the key to turn on the power - no possibility to have it turned on while away (which is okay, if it wasn't for the minifridge, so not really possible to have milk o.s. cooled). No fixation for the showerhead, its a bathtub but it's only possible to shower. The toilet flush is extremely loud (not nice to wake the whole house when flushing during the night). Kinda moist walls (bit smelly and the roof is slowly cracking). If it would have been cheaper I wouldn't mind those things, but we've stayed in a same price appartment i. Taormina just before this one, therefore the difference was noteworthy.

Perfect location, just a few steps from the main pedestrian street and the Taormina Parc

We stayed in room 1. The noise levels are atrocious, even with the windows and shutters firmly closed. And if it's windy the shutters shake violently. Very slow water drainage in the bathroom, the water would pool in the sink and take around 15 min to drain, and the shower had barely any water pressure.

There was no breakfast.
