Richcoast Darocotan El Nido

We got a beach house facing straight to the ocean like 10 steps from the Cristal clear water. The shower toilet working good and the bed was ok and comfortable. The best about this location is the amazing movie like beach with white sand blue water and shells everywhere.

The owner tries to make this place a bit like a party place. For example : Blinking light chains around the palm trees all night and day - you have the best night sky in the world but can’t watch it cause it’s disco time. Karaoke during dinner times. Loud music sometimes. This doesn’t have to be- many people I talked to come to relax - disappear from society and noise for some days. “ castaway”. Less would be more. Less bling bling lights - maybe a torch or two for the evening, some comfortable guitar music or no music at all. Enjoying the calm island life instead of party. Most foreigner have party everywhere - maybe on this island we want to relax. Please fix the Moskito nets. Sand flies and bed bugs are an issue which seems to be a part of living at the beach. No late night sitting outside without totally hard painful bites all over. I hope the bed bugs can be beaten by the stuff somehow- I hear the other hotels there don’t have the problem. The food is ok but definitely not amazing. For a one night stay it’s ok but we stayed 5 nights- so we discovered the whole island and figured out that on the east end of the island is a more expensive beach hut stay that have the most amazing with love cooked dishes available and out house guest are very welcome. We highly recommend to eat there. But I do appreciate that the stuff even told us that going there is ok for them and didn’t force us to eat in house.

S'y étant rendu après le passage d'un gros cyclone, les circonstances étaient un peu spéciales et le camp en cours de restauration. Cependant, isolé sur un bout de plage.

Bungalow famille très très petit, et vraiment rustique.

PROS: Its my second time in Bice Camp in Darracotan island and I enjoyed my stay and could relax. The staff is very kind and welcoming there and the food is delicious. The island and the underwater life in those parts of the which are still intact are beautiful even though there is not so much fish left, probably because of overfishing as a result of tourism. CONS: - good advice to tourists: bring your own 8 Liter gallon DRINKING WATER to the island- you can buy it in any supermarket in El nido or bring water from the refilling station in Teneguiban town. There is no free drinking water provided any more and the toursists need to buy every liter of water in plastic bottles for 100php (1,9€) in Bice camp or for 50 php in the village nearby. This is insane considering the environmental impact and the fact that recycling still does not happen reliably and the over-useage of ressources drains our planet. All the other resorts on the island provid free drinking water from the local refilling station in Teneguiban with filtered mineral drinking water. I think the selling of water is a very lucrative extra income that the management of Bice Camp wants to get access to. I suggest raising the price of the accomodation for 100 php per night rather offer free water again (not in plastic bottles)- like it was the case in Bice Camp, 2 years ago.

It's a nice place with lovely people hosting the place. The whole Island was still a bit messy because of the recent typhoons, but everything was worked on when we were there

Hele fijne lokatie met hele lief zorgzaam personeel. Aanrader.

Staff super accogliente. Tutti sorridenti e disponibili. Da sottolineare Andy che ha mi ha mostrato l’isola e raccontato aneddoti interessantissimi. È stato senza dubbio un valore aggiunto. La posizione è paradisiaca, direttamente in spiaggia e in un luogo incredibile

Struttura con servizi da rinnovare ormai troppo vecchi.

Wij bleken de enige gasten in dit mini resortje te zijn, sterker nog de enige gasten op het hele eiland. Dat gaf ons echt een Expeditie Robinson gevoel. Wij vonden het geweldig! Maar realiseer je dat dit echt back to basic is! Een prachtig gemaakt bamboe(boom)huisje. Drie slaaphokken met klamboes. Het huisje is gebouwd op het strand en ook in het huisje loop je dus op het zand. De buitendouche is geweldig en ook het aparte (grote) toilet is fijn. Op meerdere plekken rondomnhet huisje buitendouches en wastafels, heel handig. Verwacht geen luxe maaltijden, maar her eten is prima, reken alleen wel op minimaal 1 uur voor je je eten krijgt. In het nabij gelegen resort kun je gebruik maken van de wifi, handig. En in het lokale gedeelte van dit eiland, 2 min lopen, zitten 2 mini shopjes waar je wat chips, koek ed kunt kopen. Andy was onze host op het eiland en is een gouden jongen. Super behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Wil je overal mee helpen! Onze zoon was in een gevaarlijk vis gestapt en hij heeft al het mogelijke gedaan om ons zo goed en snel mogelijk te helpen.

Zodra de zon ondergaat zijn er veel muggen, maar dat is logisch. Wij kregen 2 ventilatoren, waardoor we er een stuk minder last van hadden. En zodra de zon onder is is het donker, dus ke gaat hier vroeg slapen en vroeg weer op.
