Spotless and in an excellent location

Rooms could do with a bit more sound proofing

David greeted us warmly and was extremely helpful and polite and gave clear instructions re parking and very good recommendations re eating options. The room was spotless and the bathroom good with plenty of hot water and towels. The beds we quite comfy - personally I prefer firmer but I can imagine most people being perfectly happy with the mattresses. The double is a great size with two mattresses together. Spotless white comfortable bed linen and towels. God wardrobe, perfect for a short stay. kettle, Barry's teabags and instant coffee and plain biscuits provided in case you arrive starving, and there are several good food places nearby including little bakeries. ALL the major attractions of Kilkenny are within walking distance. A very cheap car park is very nearby. The and we didn't need the car while there at all. Plenty to do to fill a couple of days in the city. The windows have very good noise insulation and noise from the road was minimal. The road is not terribly busy anyway, maybe at weekends, we don't know. But we weren't disturbed at all despite the location. We'd return to that room for the location and the friendliness.

The bed was a fabulous size but if you're hoping to not feel every move your partner makes then opt for the separate beds - and you can: there is a three bed room available. The toiletries are provided and minimal which is great but are in single use wrapping which some might object to and there's no sign of recycling (I'm stretching here...). The only thing we genuinely didn't like was that we could hear every actual word the people in the room below us said. But we had earplugs with us so that was fine.
