Cromwell's Hideaway

I felt very safe staying at Cromwells hideaway, Karen was very Welcoming and checked in throughout my stay which was lovely as I was on my own. Had everything you needed the views made a calming stay even more beautiful. I highly recommend staying here if you do you must visit Raglan Castle just a minute drive away it is stunning at every angle. Il be booking another stay soon.

The shepherd’s hut was compact and well equipped with easy access to the main road. In spite of the weather it was cosy, particularly with underfloor heating and woodburner. Karen and Dave were welcoming and helpful. The scenery was restful and loved the sound of pheasants and owls!

Cromwell’s Hideaway is pure magic. Tucked away in the most peaceful countryside setting, it feels like your own secret escape. The hut has everything you need – a cosy bed, proper shower and toilet, and a little kitchen space. The owners provide a lovely breakfast basket, snacks and a chilled bottle of prosecco. The real highlight though is outside, sitting by the firepit under a sky full of stars, with nothing but the sounds of nature around you. It’s quiet, romantic, and beautifully thought out. It's the perfect retreat for a couple’s getaway or even by yourself.

There is nothing not to like about this gorgeous place.

Exceptional location with great views, the attention to detail was staggering. The shepherd's hut is close enough to local points of interest, but its location made it feel like you were somewhere much more remote. Our every need had been anticipated from the luxury toiletries and bath robes to the bottle of Prosecco. The produce provided in the breakfast basket and fridge was excellent! Everything about the experience oozed quailty and luxury.

Couldn't fault a thing.

Lovely property with a beautiful view and friendly hosts. Nice quiet area with quick/easy access to local town. The hut is beautifully decorated, the bed was comfortable and the fire pit is such a nice addition. We stayed during the Abergavenny Food Festival which was around a 15 minute drive from the hut and was such a wonderful experience. Local pubs were around a 5 minute drive away and had lovely food. Cromwell's Hideaway is such a lovely place to stay, I highly recommend it :)

Nothing to dislike

The shepherds hut was fitted out with great care and attention to detail, small but perfectly formed. I was there on a really warm weekend but would be wonderfully cosy in winter as well with underfloor hearing and a logburning stove. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The bath robes were a nice touch. karen, the host greeted me on arrival and provided me with a breakfast basket. I was also very pleasantly surprised by the generous additions in the fridge, milk, butter , eggs and a full bottle of proscecco. The hut is situated in a private field where I was surrounded by a pretty wildflower meadow. Karen had also thoughtly fully provided walking books and I used one for a hike up Sugarloaf . I stayed on my own and it was wonderful .
