USThe Malaran Guest House is a simple, very clean and quite comfortable guest house in Larena. It was perfect for me for a night, as I took the night ferry from Tagbilaran. In fact, unfortunately the ferry was two hours late and Mrs. Malaran was kind enough to wait up for me until 1 am or later. She is a very nice woman and made me feel right at home. The room was small but adequate. The shower was hot. The television got full cable with many english language movies and all the major international news stations. I would definitely stay at the Malaran Guest House the next time I take the night ferry.
