Moehani Beach Lodge

Good location for the airport etc. Good size with all facilities. Older fairly well renovated apartment. Beachfront. Access appeared to be round the side of the building. Good option for this location, and overall very satisfactory, clean and comfortable, just the odd minor niggle. Recomended stay.

GPS took us next door first but all good. Slightly fiddly getting inside with the 2 locks if yourve never been before, and slightly complicated payment process. apparently that's normal for booking.com in Tahiti though. Wed never come across it before.

The space was clean, spacious, centrally located. It is close to the Museum of Tahiti and The Islands. The lodge is very close to the ocean you can feel the blast of moist air and hear the crash when the large waves hit the beautiful beach. The owner was pleasant to work with.

While close to the ocean there is no easy way to access the beach from this property, no gate, no stairs, nothing within an easy walk. The only view of the beach is looking through the property fence, there are no unobstructed views of the beach. You can see the ocean unobstructed in the distance. The bathroom sink was not attached to the vanity it wobbled all around, the counters have a covering that is pealing off in multiple locations, and the first time we turned on the water is was full of rust. The directions were not great for finding the entrance gate, it is the street on the right side of Restaurant Le Red, google maps is not accurate and there are no street signs. The owner initially communicated to us in English, then later instructions came in French so we had to use google translate to read the instructions.

Location is great beside restaurants, supermarket and on the beach with great views ( beach not swimmable at least when we were there - waves)

It would be nice to have a little note explaining what’s around and letting us know that one of the keys opened a gate to access beach. I would suggest leaving a couple of body boards so we can enjoy the beach the waves are too rough to go in without

The apartment was a spacious ground floor area with separate bedroom. Large kitchen/ dining area and sitting area that flowed onto the outside deck and its own enclosed lawn, and could not be closer to the beachfront. Great access through its own lockable gate onto the beach. Modern fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Excellent air conditioning. A very spacious and comfortable place to stay and in a great location on the beach. Just across the road from a supermarket for any food and beverage supplies. Our host was very helpful by phone in guiding me to access the gate to enter and the lockbox to obtain the key as through my fault I had lost his message.

Perfect Location - Right on the Black Beach (get there through a looked door - so nobody gets on the property). Nice seating area outside. Other than than lots of room and comfortable living room. Parking in front of the house. Beautiful white beach 10 mins away. Supermarket and restaurant in walking distance.
