1. Checkin process : we had no info at all when we arrived to the property and we needed to call the owner to get the key box code 2. nothing mentions that the apartment IS NOT ACCESSIBLE BY CAR (actually not accessible to disabled people) - my partner cannot walk so much. 3. misleading info regarding location : It is further than the 0.2 miles from downtown announced in booking.com (0.9km according to google maps). For these reason, we anticipated the checkin after the first night. I mentioned this misleading information to the property AS SOON AS WE CHECKED IN but The property REFUSED TO CANCEL AND REFUND THE SECOND NIGHT, although this fair compromise would have allowed them to re-rent the room for the second night.

La hubicación no es muy facil no teniendo un transporte, aun que hay bus que te lleva bastante cerca y un video explicativo para llegar que viene muy bien

Κρίνω ως απαράδεκτο το γεγονός ότι, στο πλαίσιο της προβολής του καταλύματος μέσω booking, δεν διευκρινίζεται ότι δεν έχουν αμφότερα τα δωμάτια πρόσβαση στη βεράντα. Έκλεισα το συγκεκριμενο καταλυμα με μόνο γνώμονα το μπαλκόνι και τη θέα απο αυτο· δυστυχως ομως φτάνοντας διαπίστωσα οτι το δωμάτιο μας δεν είχε πρόσβαση στο μπαλκόνι. Επομένως, βρεθήκαμε στο άκρο του οικισμου, επιβαρυνόμενοι με την καθημερινή ανάβαση και χωρίς την απόλαυση της προσδοκώμενης θεας. Επίσης δεν υπήρχε wifi και το δωμάτιο που μας δόθηκε δεν ειχε σημα.

I booked for the stunning view of the bay and surrounding town and we were right at the top and enjoyed sunsets and sunrises. The accommodation was the best equipped AirBnB encountered so far in our travels and we loved being able to wash our washing and enjoy a self cooked meal on the terrace upstairs It was an exceptional experience however you have to be fit if you want to walk the path to the Village. Best to take the yellow bus from the port or get a taxi to take you and your luggage up the first time. Lovely setting, right next the museum and many churches.

Without doubt, the outstanding feature of this accommodation is the large roof terrace with stupendous views over the town and two bays, far out to sea. Be sure to book the upper floor studio to have guaranteed access to the terrace, as guests in the upper floor have exclusive use of it. I was lucky, as I booked the lower floor, but there weren't any guests in the upper floor for most of my stay, so I was able to use the terrace. When the upper floor is occupied the lower floor does not have access to the terrace. The lower floor is quite dark and cave-like with the only window looking onto a stone wall 3 feet away, however I liked the dark coolness of the studio after a hot day in the sun. There is a choice of good lighting to alleviate the lack of natural light. It is a very well equipped studio and was perfect for my needs, everything new or in great condition and clean. There is a small courtyard patio with table and chairs. The host Ioannis is exceptional with easy communication and immediate responses to any queries or issues. There was an issue with the TV and WiFi but Ioannis sorted it quickly. I understand the WiFi is variable generally in Symi so there are bound to be some interruptions. It is a fairly recently rebuilt old house so both studios have modern facilities whilst retaining the charm and quirkiness of the old house. It is located in the upper part of town and the walk from the harbour is quite gruelling, however there is a bus service and reasonable taxis are available. There are some tavernas and supermarkets in the upper town, so you don't have to go to the harbour to get essentials.

Not an issue for me, but some might find the lack of natural light to be an issue, however it is well compensated for with a lot of lighting options for a small studio. And remember you will not have the terrace if there are guests in the upper studio. The steps up to the terrace may be quite challenging for some, but it is worth the effort.

review Symi Uptown Carmine The apartment is a dream in every way. We booked this apartment for 5 days in May. The interior is great, there are very nice, good quality materials. Beautiful tiles on the floor and walls of the kitchen and bathroom, nice choice of colors of the building. Beautiful sanitary facilities in the bathroom, great taps, a nice hanging toilet and even the toilet seat is of very good quality. The kitchen is very well equipped, a lot has been thought of from cheese slicer to garlic press, several cutting boards etc. Many types of knives, it is not so crazy to mention or it is present. With care and taste, crockery and glasses have been selected in terms of quality and color and coordinated with each other. From different types of small containers to beautiful plates, really great. There is a washing machine, an oven, and a nice big refrigerator. There are pans and kettles in abundance and it is great to be able to cook a meal here and eat it on the terrace. The personal touch in the apartment is clearly felt with nice accessories, decorations and so on. There is enough linen and the bed is wonderful. There are enough chairs on the terrace above and below, even a lounger. There is a big heart in this apartment in this house. The apartment is a dream picture for us in its entirety. I really can't find a single negative point. Yes, you have to walk up, because it is at the highest point ... but you know that in advance and you have to prepare for it. But then you are also in a TOP location. The host Ioannis is very very friendly, attentive, very involved and quick with messages, he is always there for you, is genuinely warm and attentive. The information you get is more than complete and easy to use. I find it unbelievable how Ioannis built this palace at this height with a good team, a very big applause is in order here. The great thing about being in Ano Symi is that the residents all have a heart for the village/island.
