"Lovely cottage, garden needs more up keep to make it perfect"

8.0

Lovely little cottage, neighbours very friendly and keen to help us. Stayed for 2 nights as a break on the coast-to-coast walk. Nice and central, and although on the main road we weren't disturbed by road noise as main bedroom was in the back. Clean, good facilities, nice kitchen and separate lounge. Bed was comfy.

Disappointing that the garden wasn't looked after in the same way as the house was. Lots of weeds, not nice to sit out in, could do with being tended regularly and the lawn cut. Also, no pegs - we booked so could use the washing machine, and although there was a washing line, no pegs were provided and we had to go buy some at the shop. The very helpful neighbours told us later they would have lent us some, so we probably should have asked :-) Would have given a 10 if these 2 problems were sorted

"Great weekend made better with great accomodation."

10.0

Great base for the area, plenty of local amenities, easy check in, had everything we needed and very clean. Excellent value!

Larger mugs and a few extra bits of cutlery would be a bonus in the kitchen

Cleanliness of the whole house very friendly neighbour table and chairs at top of the garden - perfect for evening drink

Kitchen poorly equipped: one tiny cutting board no bowls for serving/ salad one pan with a lid Minimum cutlery[ 4 places ] no colander coffee machine we couldn't use as we don't use pods . a cafetiere would be simpler for all guests jug for water would be nice garden poorly tended - it could be a lovely feature back bedroom window hard to open because of blind

"Lovely clean cottage with everything you need, close to the town centre"

9.0

Clean, close to the town centre

Tv aerial lead wasn’t in, but don’t really watch live tv, watched YouTube. Parking was quite difficult directly outside, but was able to park across the road a bit further up.

Fabulous little cottage, only downside was I couldn’t get to to work…but that does not detract from the cottage. Very clean, comfortable and great value for money

"Lovely cottage, perfect for a break in the Pennines!"

9.0

Great little cottage in a fantastic location for walkers, with the fells of the North Pennines nearby. The cottage was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed, and the owner responded promptly to messages. For groceries, there is a large, well-stocked Co-op at the other end of the village and a small but friendly Spar across the road. Parking was mostly okay, though we sometimes had to park across the road a bit if we were coming home later in the evenings.

Handling of rubbish/recycling was unclear - the instructions would have led to us putting rubbish in the garden waste bin (we were stopped by a neighbour). The owner was notified and is rectifying the situation. There wasn't enough cutlery to put it in the dishwasher, only four of everything. There were plenty of plates/bowls etc.
