Spacious and a great location

There was a weird smell in the sleeping area

The location is excellent. It is in the old city of Lucca 10 to 15 minutes walk from the train, and 5 minutes walk from a number of significant buildings. Also within 5 mins walk from a variety of cafes - one right next door. While there are small busses you can take to see the old city, everything within the walls is literally no more than 20 mins walk from this apartment.. It is an old style apartment which helps you get the incredible sensation of living in an old, intact, walled city that dates back to BC. (The apartment doesn't of course) And yet the bathroom is modern, the kitchen is well equipped. It has wifi. Good water pressure and a private courtyard. The host, Sonia, was very helpful and patient when we arrived late during a train strike. She answered all messages promptly and gave advice on where to eat. We were met on arrival which is getting less and less common, and we valued this a lot. We stayed 5 days, but wished we'd stayed a week. We thought it would be a base to see other areas, but there was too much to see in Lucca. We didn't even leave the city walls! We enjoyed the city and the apartment thoroughly.

Nothing at all. Everything was great. Don't expect brand new modern. If you prefer that then Lucca might not be your place to go.

The location was perfect and the apparent itself was very cosy. It had everything we needed.

If you like to sleep in, check if the construction in the building has ended. We were hearing a drilling since about 9am.
