Wick Bay Apartments

The location is fine if you are driving and relatively easy to find. The wifi was good and there was more than enough space for a solo traveller. There are a range of facilities in a communal dining room/kitchen that are great to access. I had a ground floor room (3 rooms in fact) so access was easy with my luggage in tow.

It seemed like a sterile environment with hard floors and what appeared to be very few people staying in a large complex.

Perfectly adequate place to stay. Units are large and clean inside but plain. Parking is great.the outside of the building is looking a little tired.

It appears to be an old folks home that has had a quick refurb to turn it into cheap holiday flats. It's in the middle of a council estate. There is only a few parking places. It smelt just like an old folks home. As a bonus the "common room" still has the collapsed sofas and sense of pending finality only found in old folks homes. In that regard it's probably a great place to bring Granny for a wee break before dropping her at her new forever home, break her into it slowly and all that. Was "cheap" so let's be reasonable it was not terrible just kind of bad. What I would say is that unless budget is the primary factor I would probably look elsewhere but if you do stay here know what your booking and you will be fine.

Schon beim Betreten der Anlage kam mir ein extremer Geruch nach PVC entgegen. Der Teppichboden und auch die Wände im gesamten Gebäude sind unglaublich stark verschmutzt. Es handelt sich dabei nicht um "Apartments", so wie auf www.booking.com beschrieben, sondern machte den Eindruck einer heruntergekommen Jugendherberge mit Privatzimmern. Die Küche hatte keinen Herd zum Kochen. Im Kühlschrankinneren war es schimmlig. In den Küchenkästchen befanden sich tote Spinnen. Im Badezimmer befinden sich keine Steckdosen, weder zum Fönen noch zum Rasieren. Auf den Fotos wirkt es, als sei der Boden aus Echtholz. Das ist nicht der Fall. Er ist aus billigem Laminat. Die Vorhänge rochen stark nach Kunststoff. Die Zimmereingangstüre schließt nicht mit dem Zimmerboden, sodass ein ca. 4cm offener Spalt entsteht. Das gesamte Gebäude ist sehr hellhörig. Man hört im gesamten Gebäudekomplex, wenn jemand furzt. Die Kontaktaufnahme per Email mit einer zuständigen Person war erfolglos. Eine Antwort bekam ich erst nach meiner Abreise. Die gesamte Gegend scheint heruntergekommen zu sein. Für die Anzahl an "Apartments" gibt es nicht genügend Parkplätze. Wir kommen aus Österreich und machten einen Familienurlaub (4 Personen - 42, 37, 13 und 5 Jahre) mit dem Auto quer durch Schottland. Während unserer 14tägigen Reise waren wir insgesamt in 5 verschiedenen Unterkünften und waren jedesmal zufrieden. Diese Unterkunft ein absoluter Alptraum.

Parking facilities, wifi non-existent

One night stop while traveling the nc500 with my son. The apartment was spotless, and looked like it had recently refurbished. It was perfect for our needs.

The location was very pretty. Nice walks beside the apartment. The apartment was very clean, basic but everything we needed .

The price was a bit steep
