Die riesige Terasse war wunderbar . Es war ruhig, es gab verschiedene Sitzmöglichkeiten.

Es wären beschattungsvorhänge auf der terasse sinnvoll.

Die Terrasse war groß und schön! Ein Bad war renoviert und somit top. Lage war gut.

Keine Klimaanlagen in den Schlafzimmern. Die eine Klimaanlage im Wohnzimmer war sehr alt und hat nicht mehr richtig gekühlt. Kühlschrank auch sehr alt und sehr laut. Das zweite Bad war ebenfalls sehr alt und hat etwas gestunken. Waschmaschine vorhanden, aber kein Waschmittel.

The host couple exemplifies why this place is great - they accommodated us when our plans changed for check-in, they gave us lots of advice and were always available even for questions besides the apartment, for example about driving regulations in Taormina. And the apartment could have been their own home, i mean it has everything - a toaster, a dishwasher, salt, pepper, sugar, plenty of cutlery, large pots and pans for all sorts of cooking, even plastic containers. It all just makes you feel so welcome! Our favorite part was of course the terrace and again - it has 2 different grills, a comfy sofa and chairs for relaxation AND a dining table and wooden chairs for meals, plus 2 sun-chairs all with a view of the mountains and if you stand in the right spot also the sea. It has a roof over the furniture, but also a large space under the sun if you want to sunbathe, as well as curtains for more privacy. The apartment provides behind-a-gate parking, free parking on the side of the little street and the hosts even offered us a garage (as well as 2 bikes-wow). The neighborhood was quiet and the walk to the beach was 2 minutes. When it comes to restaurants, you have about 30 options within a 15 minute walking distance, including the sea-side places with a view of Taormina. There are regular-priced shops nearby, but you can also visit really cheap supermarkets a little further off. We really regretted trying to go to Taormina by car, so we recommend the bus station that is 6 minutes away, you can buy a ticket (1,90) from an officer and be under the Greek Theater after 20 minutes. They go every 30 min until like 23:00.

If you are VERY particular about how and where you sleep, you might have to think. The beds were fine, not problematic, but the rooms are small, with even smaller windows (that still provide fine ventilation and a little light). The bedrooms can not have normal Air conditioning because of their shape, but the hosts provide fans. Still, we chose to leave our doors open to get the conditioned air of the main room, and so the buzzing of the fridge could be heard in the double-bed room. But that's it. We came here at the end of September, and on the last night we didn't even need any AC, so there goes the biggest problem. Considering how great the living space is, the sleeping situation really should not be a deal-breaker. It was not, and will not be for us next time we come to Taormina/Giardini Naxos.

Santy is a welcoming and caring host and she impressed us because she bought a special baby bed and a baby set knowing that we were coming with our little girl. The house is beautiful, clean and equipped with absolutely everything you need and I think it is ideal for a family on vacation. We also used the grill on the terrace and prepared a delicious Italian-style dinner.
