Fern Cottage Escape

Superbe emplacement et cadre campagnard pittoresque sur les hauteurs de Nelson mais sans être isolé. Les Alpagas et moutons nous tenaient compagnie. Gîte bien équipé qui nous a permis de nous restaurer en parfaite autonomie et tranquillité.

Difficulté à trouver certains équipements (grille pain que nous n’avons pas trouvé !). Fonctionnement du four complexe…. On a fini par abandonner son utilisation.

It's the perfect location to stay in Nelson. A nice house with scenic views over the bay in the middle of trees. The hosts were really attentive and responsive. A place to repeat, definitely!

You have to follow exactly the instructions given to find the house, as google maps won't take you to the right place.

The scenery was beautiful, our hosts were very attentive & accommodating. Our unit was comfortable, warm & clean. We enjoyed seeing the sheep & alpaca the last day & we really appreciated the use of their laundry facility.

The drive to the property was a little challenging, on a gravely road which was hilly with speed bumps.

The location is fabulous, the accommodation is comfortable, everything works and there’s plenty of space. Great provisions are waiting for you including home made bread.

There was nothing that we didn’t like. My only comment that might fit here is that the bbq lacked oomph when challenged to cook a large Porterhouse Steak.

A Great vegetarian breakfast! on arrival was a warm loaf of sourdough, muesli, fruit, yoghurt, butter,milk, coffee etc plenty for our three night stay, and just down the road is a little four square for anything else. Every little detail was thought out, from slippers provided to cooking books.the ocean and mountain view was fantastic.

A beautiful place to stay, the house has everything you need, the view is amazing and the bed was so comfortable. A bit too cold to try the outdoor bath, but a great selection of fruit and fresh bread was a lovely touch.

A great location away from the main city centre, nestled in the hills but not far from the Nelson CBD. Very comfortable and well stocked with everything you need and more. A credit to Beryl, who has gone out of her way to make the cottage feel like a home away from home. The outside bath is a highlight, as were the glow worms up on the road side.

Extremely well appointed, clean cabin with small touches that added to the comfort. The bedding was very comfortable and the surroundings were tranquil.

This place is absolutely amazing, all the little touches made it feel very special, the fresh bread and all the extras were exceptional... And the outdoor bath tub, wow!! Just wow... We will be back again for sure
