The Sanduk Homestay

Ridurre l'esperienza in questa homestay al fatto di dormire da qualche parte sarebbe riduttivo. Ibra, il padrone di casa, è forse una delle migliori persone che io abbia mai conosciuto. Da The Sanduk Homestay hai la possibilità di entrare in una piccola realtà familiare, conoscere persone ed entrare in contatto con loro e i loro sorrisi. Le giornate sono fatte di calore umano, buone chiacchiere e spontaneità. Le stanze sono semplici e il bagno in comune, non è un hotel di lusso ma c'è tutto quello che serve per stare bene, anche la piccola colazione nella deliziosa terrazza, dove ti rilassarsi fin dalle prime ore della giornata. Ibra, poi, può noleggiarti un motorino, organizzare tour e c'è il servizio lavanderia, tutto al prezzo corretto. Qui credono nel turismo bello, quello lento e di contatto. Una bella realtà davvero! Grazie Ibra, mi mancavi già dopo il nostro abbraccio finale. Ci rivedremo, ne sono sicuro, il mondo ha bisogno di più persone come te! Un abbraccio forte anche a Nia. Vi aspettiamo in Italia.

Ibra and the other staff were very friendly and welcoming. The homestay was very clean with big rooms. Ibra organized us a guide to experience the local toraja funerals. Our guide Rita was very knowledgeable and managed to show us multiple funerals at a different state. We could rent a scooter from the homestay for three days. Ibra organized our night bus tickets to makassar and dropped us to the bus station. We could also do a late checkout which was convenient to catch the night bus.

Such a wonderful place, with extraordinary people. We spent 3 nights here and we felt like we were at home. Confortable, closed to the city, with all solutions and facilities for discovering the region (guides, motorbikes, help for food, everything !). Thank you Ibra and all your staff for your welcoming and kindness. We’re gonna miss you !

This homestay and his owner Ibra are unique, a jewel in Rantepao! Everything that we read in previous reviews was true. Ibra is very helpful in organising tours around Toraja. The room and the bathroom are clean, the beds really comfortable. For breakfast you can choose between western and asian style, both is nice and portions are good and large :)

Absolutely stay here, it was a highlight of our trip! We stayed for almost a week and had such a nice time. The room is comfortable, breakfast is wonderful, the shared bathroom is no problem as only shared with one other room. We rented a moto and had fun seeing the places recommended. Shower was hot. But the star is your host - extremely helpful and caring. He even got my partner a birthday cake for his birthday, and picked us up from the bus station! He is a guide and loves to share his knowledge

The room is quite loud but earplugs are provided so no problem

Ibra is a nice person, very helpful, he picked us up and dropped us off to the bus. He bought us a birthday cake without asking anything. His homestay is clean, large room, a little bit off the center but with a motorbike it's ok. Thanks again

Mr Ibra, the host does all he can to make your stay comfortable. It was the best accommodation I had while travelling in Indonesia. Highly recommended. Close to Ketakesu.

The tour guide Henderik was awful and was interested only in the money that he could get out of me.

The Sanduk was an incredible experience. Ibra is a stellar host who will go out of his way to help you with anything you need. He gave me many great suggestions for exploring the Toraja area. And the accommodation itself is very comfy, nice big rooms and clean shared bathrooms. On top of all that the price was very reasonable so the value cannot be beat. Highly recommended!

Owner speaks very good English and is very helpful in all aspects. We could check in even at 7 am due to our early arrival.
