The Native Weligama

The hosts were so amazing, the rooms were comfy, and the breakfast everyday was lovely. Highly recommend staying here if you’re in Weligama.

The first floor rooms smelled like mold, even though they tried to cover it with air fresheners. The bathrooms were not clean. The upstairs only had solar powered showers, which means they were lukewarm warm in the evening. The property is located right in a fairly busy road. So it is quite loud in the evening. The neighborhood dogs barked all night, making it difficult to sleep. The common areas are poorly lit which makes them difficult to use in the evening. There was no staff on site when we checked in, so you have to rely on communication from the owners, which is delayed and defensive. We left after the first night and found accommodations down the street at the Sapiens, where they were welcoming, helpful and the rooms were clean and less expensive. Definitely would recommend people stay somewhere else.

The place is incredibly beautiful! Firstly, it’s very clean and good looking. Secondly, the breakfast is really tasty and just looks nice. And the last but not the least it’s really affordable! Thanks to the host for keeping in touch and helping with questions that we had! Btw we saw monkes in the early morning jumping from tree to a tree

Wifi was a little slow but the local sim does the trick, means didn’t interrupt our experience. Some occasional insects and reptiles can frighten your wife so you have to hunt them down and let them live their happy life outside of your room

Lovely rooms, friendly staff and yummy breakfast. Beautiful garden to sit out in after a day at the beach.

Unfortunately the neighbours next door had extremely loud karaoke nights till very early in the morning which kept us awake till the early hours. Such a shame,as otherwise very tranquil.

Everything was so pretty and the rooms were a great size. Staff always around and easy to contact on watsapp.

Property offered very tasty breakfasts everyday, wifi was very fast, which is important when you work remotely

Although i stayed for 5 nights, cleaning was only once. In the bathroom there were cockroaches, tap was not in the right direction and it was hard to wash hands.
