The best location in Matera, which is in the center of the city and close to all the attractions but still quiet. We really enjoyed very nice breakfast with many local bakery offered by the owner. Special thanks to the host, who waited to greet us and introduced the room and the attractions.

This was a unique experience and the perfect place to stay for our 4 nights in Matera. While it looks like just a cave from the outside, inside is a cave dwelling that is actually a large, luxurious and modern suite with a seperate bedroom / sitting area, a huge spa-like shower and a bonus hot tub in a seperate lower area. It really is mind-blowing to be in a cave this well-appointed! The location in the old town was perfect for sight seeing and expereiencing the magic of Matera. Our host was absolutely lovely and communication with him was top notch. Directions he provided to the car park made it easy to locate and park our rental car to catch the shuttle into the old town, however our host surprised us by picking us up at the car park and driving us into the old town. He gave us lots of information about sites and getting around and helped us with dinner reservations (and even dropped off some medicine and a thermometer when my husband told him I was not feeling well). We loved staying here.

The breakfast provided was acceptable but nothing special.
