The simplicity of the furnishings. This is Japan: expect to sit on the floor. The ease to move furnishings around to eat or just have space. Loved that entry was large enough for multiple people removing shoes at the same time. We had a wheelchair with us and left it in the entry way. The space was perfect. Washing machine and clothes hangers were nice to have. Proximity to a 24hr grocery store very nice.

There were no instructions for taking out the trash. I would have happily carried the trash to wherever the repository was. We were five adults for a full week and one trash can. The trash was overflowing. I felt terrible to leave it that way. Also there was pink mold in the shower area. I tried to clean it, but stained a towel in the process. Again, I would have been happy to clean if cleaning supplies were available.
