Dante Alighieri House

Apartment in very good location. One day sunbathing and swimming in the sea, the second day a trip and sightseeing. The train station is nearby. The host explained everything very well and gave us a map of the town. The apartment is very large, there are 2 toilets and 1 shower. We were a family of 4 and everyone had a place. The host provides a lot of towels and bed linen for change. There is also soap, shampoo, toilet paper and many other cleaning products, everything you need. Air conditioning and Internet work well. We had a really great stay there. Thank you very much!

Location is close to ideal. You are 5 minutes’ walk from the train station, from the seafront and from the old town. The apartment is as HUGE as advertised. There are two separate bedrooms, two toilets, a kitchen, a laundry, a foyer and a TV/lounge room with small balcony. The landlord has hung lots of interesting art works which adds to the charm. I appreciated the iron and ironing board as well as the functional kitchen with spices etc. left over from previous guests. The Wi-Fi is the fastest I have ever experience. Page loads were almost instant. Watching a movie it did not buffer at all.

But…the TV was old, with hardly any channels (most were not connected) and the remote was almost useless because of dead batteries. Good residences have a smart TV with YT etc. The air-con did not work. One of them blows air, but not cold air. The other one, did not start at all. The two single beds are both about 75cm wide. You almost fall off. The sheets are even smaller and keep slipping off the mattress. And the pillows are the cheapest possible. Way too soft. This is unforgiveable. Landlord: spend a few thousand euros on good beds and linen. You are in the business of providing somewhere for people to sleep. So overall, I cannot recommend this place until it is upgraded with TV, aircon and bedding. It will then be well worth the money.

Super friendly owner, excellent location, well equipped clean and spacious apartman! Everything was just perfect! Early arrival and late departure was also possible, for which we are very grateful.

The decor could be a bit more stylish, a few carpets maybe, because the stone was very cold. Also a drying rack would be useful in case one doesn't want to hang their clothes outside.

Met Giancarlo at the apartment to provide access and overview. Place was really well equipped with everything needed for extended visit. Location was excellent in the heart of Bari with an easy walk to the central station, the old city and many other attractions

Clean, spacious, better looking than on the pictures. Surprisingly quiet given the busy location. Giancarlo (the host) gave us a lot of useful tips and was helpful when we needed something.

The location of the apartment is exactly as it's description and absolutely fabulous. The old town, the promenade and beach, the train station, shops and restaurants all within easy walking distance. The apartment is large and it's high ceilings make it very comfortable. It is very well equipped, one of the best I have stayed in. Gioncarlo was our host for the week and he could not have done enough for us. He was absolutely excellent, he met us at the apartment when we arrived and showed us around. He gave us a map of the area and marked out places of interest, good restaurants, etc. He also suggested places we should visit in the Puglia area and gave us the details of how to get there. We contacted him a couple of times during our stay and he answered our messages immediately. I would certainly recommend Dante Alighieri House as a great place to stay in Bari
