I really like staying a little further away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel. From here, I could walk to most of the tourist stuff was in under 20 minutes, but I also had the benefit of more peace and quiet and getting a glimpse into the local lifestyle. The staff are lovely and very accommodating. When I had a night bus they let me take a nap on my bed after checkout.

There rarely was soap and toilet paper in the toilet.
