Cae Talgarth Bungalow

Lovely holiday home, clean well equipped & well placed for exploring , we didn’t use the on-site facilities as there’s plenty to do in the surrounding area.

Quiet location has spectacular views of hills and fields. Lots of wildlife and birds. Grounds are maintained to a high standard (shrubs trimmed and lawns mown).

Lack of attention to bungalow maintenance and in particular bathroom cleanliness. I left a list of improvements for the hosts to consider. The property door locks were difficult to open and need lubricating with graphite powder. Toilet seat and lid were dirty. Shower screen seal was green and mouldy. Bed frame storage mechanism rocked against bed frame when you lie on the mattress and turn over. Black mouldy silicone sealant in bathroom basin and by window. Loose window handle in kitchen. Door latches stick. Unable to close living room door. Also, the 3 seater sofa position wasn't suitable for watching the TV or for admiring the views from the main living room window. I could go on. I've stayed at the property several times in the past so I know that some of the issues are new and some have been outstanding for years (like the door handles, latches, and sticking doors). However, I know that the previous owners of the property kept it all clean. There were other things that were just not to my taste, such as the mirrors, pictures and ornaments. It would have been good if there had been a footstool to put my feet up.

The bungalow was spotlessly clean comfortable and well equipped It was surrounded by beautiful countryside mountains and rivers. It was perfect for a family break

The bungalow was well appointed and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the spa bath; which was a nice surprise. Kitchen was well equipped for self-catering. The hosts were very communicative and accommodating; we would definitely book again.

Whilst it’s stated as such on the listing, not having a dishwasher on holiday isn’t ideal.

Great little cottage in a beautiful area. Super well appointed with everything we needed. Beds were comfy, kitchen was well stocked with good quality crockery and everything we needed to be able to cook, our kids enjoyed playing the games from the cupboard. The place was clean and nice and we were very pleased with it. Had a great stay.

Everything was great! Only tip for the owners would be to add a few more throw blankets for evenings on the sofa or to add to the beds.

I was brought up in pennal, brought my children to Talgarth as they were growing up . My friend used to live in number 11 (1976!).. happy memories . Came here with my 8 month granddaughter and her parents . The bungalow was well equipped, beds v comfy . The only dislikes were , it was cold when we arrived and musty but we aired it and put the heating on and had a fabulous break .
