Monte Gordo apartment

Very clean and spacious

A little loud with dogs barking at night in the area

The location is great. It is easy to mingle and travel here and there. The city is impeccable. The installations were all great. The bathrooms are a delight. The main room is cozy, just a little cramped, but still very good. Beds are comfortable, the house has some nice spots, two small external areas, and is full of light, but still quiet and calm. The host is easy to approach; the apartment is still private, and almost everything is great there. They provided a welcome manual, which is super useful. All the furniture is new, and the apartment has some esoteric decor, which adds to the whole Monte Gordo quasi-mythical experience. We were guided through the apartment and introduced to every part of it by a lovely person. We felt comfortable and at home the whole time. The kitchen has some generic items to assist us in our stay, like glasses, kitchen appliances, silverware, and a good amount of dishes and serving items. The kitchen is cozy and neat. There are two lovely parrots that hardly make any noise and are playful and chatty, but only if you talk to them, in the floor immediately below. The house is quiet in general, and you barely hear any sounds from the outside with the windows closed.

The three bedrooms share a small AC unit (in the central hall), which means the bedrooms can become warm and hot at night. However, there are fans in all the bedrooms to help with the airflow. The refrigerator was in need of some maintenance, which wasn’t a problem but became a small concern. Although the welcome manual is great, we missed some clear guidelines regarding expectations and available services (like how to request new towels and other small things). In the end, all worked out, but some clarity here might benefit future travelers. There’s only one TV, which is not an issue, but some might expect TVs in the bedrooms, and there are none. One of the small external spaces has some glass flooring, and it was cracked, which might be dangerous if some shards or pieces rise, or even for walking barefoot there. The sink in the main bathroom was draining slowly. Other than these small issues, the whole experience was absolutely great. Most of my comments were about small daily things that just happen in everybody’s houses.

Location was perfect, apartment was very clean, beds comfortable and shower great!

Washing up liquid would have been good.

Clean, spacious and modern flat.

Three dogs owned by the owners live below the windows of the flat and bark loudly on a very regular occurrence, throughout the day and the night. Sleep deprivation is not what we were after.
