I had a lovely stay at Redhill cliff complex! From the moment I arrived, I felt very welcomed. The host was incredibly warm and helpful, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The location is serene and peaceful, nestled in the countryside – a perfect escape from the busy city. It's a bit out of town, but still conveniently close to the main road. There's a short off-road drive (about 4 minutes), but nothing too difficult. One thing I really appreciated was that I could still place online orders through apps like Uber, even in this more remote area. That was a big plus! They also offer breakfast, which is a nice touch – although the variety is quite limited and the quality could be improved a bit. Dinner was also available during our stay, though unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to try it.

There were a number of things that could be improved. Cleanliness was a concern—there were visible marks in the bathroom, like toothpaste on the tap and grime on the walls, which made it feel like it hadn’t been properly cleaned before my arrival. Water availability was also an issue. The bathroom taps had no water, and I was told to use the kitchen tap instead—but this wasn’t communicated in advance, and I feel it's the kind of thing guests should be informed about up front. The master bedroom had a faulty switch that only worked after multiple attempts, and the shower only produced cold water, so we had to use the shared/main one instead. Even then, using the shower required some guesswork to get the right temperature and pressure—it wasn’t user-friendly. One unsettling moment was when our padlock was apparently misplaced after the host had to enter the property while we were away. The lock hadn’t been replaced by the time we returned, which left me wondering how long the house was left unsecured. Lastly, while breakfast was included, it lacked variety and there wasn’t an option to customize it. We were never asked how we wanted it prepared or offered much choice at all. Overall, while I appreciated the quiet location and the host’s kindness, I think there are several areas—especially around cleanliness, communication, and basic amenities—that need improvement. I didn’t end up staying for the full duration of my booking, as I chose to explore other accommodations during my trip to Kenya.

It is not as advertised. It looks totally different. I booked a one bedroom but was given a three bedroom.

The manager and staff are very accommodating and very helpful. The place is far from noise of town and offers a unique farmhouse experience by its location.

A little far from town center but easily accessible by taxis and other hired transport. The manager has good transportation arrangements for in need times.

Charles, the host, was so good to us. We were made to feel at home, and in case of any delay, he was kind and courteous enough to alert us beforehand. The food was delicious and the charges were very pocket friendly.

The serenity of the place makes it feel homely. Birds chirping, visible stars and moon, grass lawn for, facilities for sports activities...all these gave us a star experience. Charles is an amazing and patient host with great communication skills. The apartments are very spacious. The breakfast was very filling. Redhill Cliff Complex is great value of money.

Most of the time, the host - who lives in the building with his family - was friendly and eager to help us out with various services and advice. The flat was reasonably comfortable, and the location was calm. The complex is a work in progress, and that progress should be encouraged as the people involved are a hardworking and generous family.

We were given an invoice for extra charges: some seemed questionable. The host, having not seen the issue raised by previous guests, felt he was being cheated and threatened to throw us and our infant child out on the street, in late December when other lodging may have been hard to get... However, once customer support confirmed that some charges should indeed have been mentioned beforehand, he realised we were not trying to cheat him. It was then easy to discuss the invoice and agree how much should be paid. He shouldn't be judged harshly for having gotten emotional about a business into which he clearly puts a lot of thought and care. So, despite the passing dispute, I still recommend him as a host, as I'm sure he'll do his best to avoid such misunderstandings in the future.
