"The cottage was comfortable and convenient for the area we were wanting to be in."

8.0

Comfortable and well equipped. Great secure back garden for being dog friendly.

Unfortunately being on a main road. Admittedly the cottage was set back and double glazing helped with being insulated against the traffic noise - but a busy road and not an easy turn into the parking area - for going in or back out on to the main road.

"Peaceful location"

9.0

A great cottage - well equipped. Loved being able to get fresh milk and eggs from the farm next door. Also enjoyed the idyllic views of the field and hills opposite. A real Peak District experience.

It would be great to have instructions on recycling and on disposing of food waste in an environmentally friendly manner. On one occasion the parking was full when I arrived back. Thankfully someone left soon after but it was inconvenient.

The house was beautifully decorated and furnished and well appointed. The location was excellent for exploring the area and parking was close to the cottage.

"Lovely place to stay and excellent base to explore the Peak District from."

10.0

Lovely cottage, very comfortable and felt like home. We very much enjoyed the stay. We particularly liked a spacious back garden which was great and even had a goal so football could be practiced-this is very practically when travelling with boys. I would certainly recommend and would like to come back again.

"simply amazing."

9.0

The cottage was conveniently located. Not within the city but close enough, just as we wanted. Was close enough to Lidl. Sarah the owner was prompt when I raised a concern and got the issue sorted. The cottage had enough space when we decided to stay indoors as it was raining outside. Carpark was convenient too.

Not a biggie, but we cook a fair bit as we prefer freshly cooked food rather than microwaved. We struggled a tad bit with the number of plates etc and the range of eg knives and cooking appliances. But again its a problem specific to us because of our kitchen habits.

"Disappointing and would not return."

4.0

Location was good for neighbouring towns. Pub/Restaurant across the road.

On arrival first impressions were very poor. The front garden was very untidy and the walk from the car park to the property was very unwelcoming. The inside was ok if not a little grubby in places. Facilities were fine regarding cutlery/crockery etc. the rear garden was very similar to the front garden. Time and effort is needed to make it a pleasant place to sit. There was no terrestrial TV available and had i not had Netflix to watch then there would have been nothing. A basic requirement i would suggest. The shower in the bathroom upstairs while perfectly ok did due to the water not draining away overflowed onto the bathroom floor each time we used the shower. A mopping up operation followed which was not what we wanted or expected to do.

"Nice enough but a few finishing touches may mean that people might return."

5.0

The beds, towels and bedding were clean and comfortable . Garden was nice - lots of space. The area is lovely - lots of walks beautiful scenery and pretty villages. Interior of cottage was fine.

Not quite enough of lots of things - not enough crockery, few pans , toilet rolls- hand wash was watered down ( why?) . Busy road next to cottage - noise was ok just not ideal. The TV did not work and other visitors had noted this in the visitors book but still not sorted out - so we could not watch the Euro final on Sunday night . I felt that this was wrongly advertised. Wifi was poor and mobile reception not great - would not suit someone who needed to work remotely .

"Good"

7.0

This a very nice cottage which could be exceptional with a few tweaks. The beds were super comfy and the bedding was clean and seemed new. The bedrooms are roomy and there is plenty of storage. Lovely view from the main bedroom. The kitchen is great and has everything you need. The living room is fine but would benefit from one more chair.. We really appreciated the excellent radiators in every room. The bathrooms are good. There it s traffic noise but we did not find it a problem. The Royal Oak pub is excellent and has great food The Bookstore on the road to Buxton is a gem. This was a good location for visiting all parts of the Peak District

The poor wifi signal and the fact that there is NO TV reception were disappointing. Netflix and other apps worked ok. A satellite connection would really help. We had to reboot the whole system several times. In general the house was clean but would benefit from a thorough cleaning of skirting boards, floors etc. The entrance and front garden could be more inviting. Plenty of parking, but a little hard to find the entrance at first as it is hidden by lots of vegetation. The upstairs doors are very squeaky. Downstairs toilet seat is very loose. A bit more information in the house book would be helpful.
