Sunrise View Homestay

Staying with Madhu and ruka is a true homestay, cultural immersion and we had a lovely time. They have great ideas for what to do, helped with logistics, and Madhu is a great cook (ask for the millet chapati for breakfast).

Beds are hard , they are hard across Nepal, so not a big deal.

Ruka and his family made us feel really welcome, so much that we extended our stay for a third night ! Madhu's nepali kitchen (that we enjoyed for breakfast and dinner) is delicious, and she took great care of us. The children are really sweet too and really smart. Everyone was really helpful and willing to share local culture with us ! As for the place itself it's perfectly clean, well maintained and comfortable, in Tansen bazaar's main street. You'll definitely love your stay !!!

Ruka, Madu and their three lovely children will make you feel right at home, and will do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfasts made by Madu are something to get excited about in the mornings.

The family were very friendly and gave us many helpful ideas about places to visit. The children were great fun. We had excellent meals morning and evening. It was interesting to see where our host was making yogurt to sell and to learn about life in a small Nepali town. The bedroom was basic, but adequate. We could see beautiful sunrises from the bedroom window!

The bathroom needs work on the overpowering smelly drains.

This was my first ever Homestay, and I am very happy it was with Sunrise. The host family was very friendly: great Daal Bhat food, local knowledge about hiking (to Rani Mahal) & the Tansen area, and a comfortable bed in a clean room.

My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer!

The host and their family are an exceptional host. Mrs. Madhu is such a great cook and is always ready to help you in any way possible. Their son Rijen is the best Guide you can get for exploring local locations.
