CHOMI HOUSE TAMBOPATA

The location of Chomi House is great: very close to the Tambopata river. We had the smaller (single floor) house with a swimming pool in front. Everything was clean and tidy. Each bedroom has a fan. One of the bedrooms has a mosquito net, but we didn’t really need it. Senor Elmer and his family are phenomenal hosts. They responded to our every need, in spite of language barriers. Keep in mind that Senor Elmer has built everything in the place himself. The swimming pool made a world of difference after coming back from a full-day excursion at 32 degrees Celsius heat! Another thing: their cooking is excellent, whether it’s traditional Peruvian or Lo Mein. We had 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 2 dinners during our 2-day stay, and we would not have eaten out even if there were other restaurants close by.

Nothing to dislike.

Excepcional, Chomi es un maravilloso anfitrión, nos vino a recoger desinteresadamente a otro hotel por una equivocación nuestra y nos llevó al alojamiento, se preocupó en todo momento de facilitarnos la estancia y hasta me hizo una infusión para ayudarme con mi dolor de estómago ya que pasé unos malos días durante el viaje. Hicimos tours organizados por él y fueron una maravilla, realmente organiza hasta el último detalle y no escatima en el tiempo hasta que aparecen los animalillos. El desayuno muy rico y se adaptan a tus preferencias, preparando también desayunos vegeterianos y veganos. No puedo decir nada negativo, gracias por todo Chomi!

No nos gustó haber estado tan pocos días, ojalá haber disfrutado más de este maravilloso lugar!

Elmer and his family were absolutely lovely. Fabiana, his daughter, helped with English translations. The place is just amazing with all the confort you can imagine in the middle of the jungle. Elmer took us to a local restaurant where locals go and where we could feed Macaws. He made sure our stay was perfect and we couldn t ask for a better place to enjoy the Amazon. We could see lots of animals at night and enjoy Piranha fishing in the morning.

El estar en un lugar no tan lejano pero a la vez no tan cercano de la ciudad. Es una buena opción cuando se desea desconectar pero no al 100% de la ciudad.

Estuvimos 4 noches y nos quedaron cortas. Elmer y su familia son personas maravillosas, te ayudan en todo lo que necesitas, te aconsejan y sobretodo te hacen sentir como en casa, sin duda hasta ahora en lo que llevamos de viaje es nuestro sitio favorito del país, gracias por todo y esperamos volver a verlos.

Ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt! Alles war top! Elmer hat sich sehr um uns gekümmert, wollte, dass wir immer zufrieden sind. Er half uns bei der Aktivitätenplannung , man würde immer pünktlich abgeholt und wieder hingebracht. Der Pool war eine willkommene Abkühlung bei den heißen Temperaturen. In den Schlafzimmern waren über den Betten Moskitonetze angebracht. Insgesamt war alles sehr sauber und gemütlich.

Die Aktivitäten sind sehr unterschiedlich, es ist eine Geschmackssache. Die meisten haben uns gut gefallen, manche überschneiden sich. Auf den Rainforest walk würde ich z.B. verzichten (v.a. am Abend) man sieht nicht viel, und man läuft bei den anderen Aktivitäten auch durch den Regenwald.

A wonderful place near the river.Elmer was a geat host who arranged our tours and dinner. We loved living with this cool peruvian family who took care of everything seamlessly.

Liegt in der Natur, wir konnten Affen beobachten und gemütlich auf der Veranda sitzen. Alles ist noch sehr neu und gut gepflegt. Das Frühstück war lecker und der Gastgeber sehr freundlich.

Elmer and his family were great hosts. The comfortable house is in a lovely garden with free roaming chickens. We enjoyed the pool for cooling off in the midday heat. The balcony was great for bird- and agouti spotting. Elmer organized some very nice tours and generally took care of everything
