Hotel Solar Palmeiras

Pleasant hotel. Great check in. Large spacious suite. Great sea view. Nice swimming pool. Lovely breakfast, lots of choice. Located a 10 minute walk from two suburban railway stations with regular trains to Lisbon or Cascais. Also a 10 minute walk from Paco de Arcos which had a good number of nice restaurants. Uber was also easy to use from/to this location. We were very happy with our choice of accommodation.

The evening bar/restaurant staff were inexperienced and single handed. We wanted a meal on the Saturday night but we had no confidence that anyone would take an order. The bar person did not know how to take a cork out of a bottle of wine, they asked my husband to do it. The suite seemed like it had had a partial refurbishment! The bed, sofa and chair were very good. Generally the furniture was sparse, I felt it was missing a dressing table in the bedroom and a sideboard in the sitting room. The kitchen area seemed as thought where there once had been a cooker and sink it had been blanked off. The countertop was poor quality and had suffered water damage and was rippled. The bathroom was mostly good but a small replacement sink had been put in a larger oval hole, this caused a gap at the back where things would fall to the floor! The sink had no plug. There was no one to help with luggage and no trolley to assist. There were about 8 steps from reception down to the lift. We had a lot of luggage as we are on a five week tour. Getting our luggage from the car to our room felt like a 'work out' for us. If you are traveling light or young and fit, it would be fine! It is on a busy and noisy road, we knew to expect this.

Did not find anything that I liked.

Traffic sound of four lanes below hotel, sounds of train running above the hotel. Elevator sounds below the room. You cab not sleep there unless you are deaf. Mold in one of the room.

Das Hotel war sehr schön.

Störend war die 4-spurige Strasse, die doch Lärm verursacht. Der Weg zum Zug in die Innenstadt betrug ca 15 min.

Kõik oli super. Sõbralik ja vaikne. Väga super.

Tänav kohe kõrval. Öösel mootorrattad tegid kiiruskatseid ja see äratas üles. Rongile minna on esimene kord hirmus, aga tagasi tulles enam ei olnud.

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's location is perfect—just a 12-minute walk to the train station, which gets you to the Time Out Market in about 15 minutes (or a quick 15-minute Bolt ride). It’s also ideally situated near authentic, local restaurants that offer a true taste of the region rather than typical tourist traps. ​The staff and management truly set this hotel apart. The front desk team was kind and professional, and the hotel manager was incredibly helpful, assisting us with every request. They even went above and beyond to arrange an amazing birthday surprise for my wife, which made our trip unforgettable! ​Other highlights included: ​Breakfast: High-quality variety with excellent coffee (both bean-to-cup and espresso pod machines). ​Facilities: A very clean and relaxing swimming pool area. ​Service: Genuinely friendly atmosphere throughout the property.

Everything was wonderful—we have no complaints!
