The best part of the accommodation was the beds – they were comfortable and allowed for a good rest.

But overall, the experience was quite disappointing for several reasons: 1. No service at all: We arrived at 6:45 PM (check-in is until 7:00 PM), and there was no one at the reception. We had to walk around the street looking for someone, and finally a local helped us contact the owners. To make things worse, there was a power outage in the reception area, so we had no light or Wi-Fi. Poorly organized and no staff around to help. 2. Misleading facilities: On Booking.com, the property appears when you filter by “air conditioning,” but in reality, only 2 out of the 4 cottages have it. The other 2 only have fans. Their excuse was that when they turn on the A/Cs in all units, the power goes out due to limitations from the Dutch investors. Honestly, that’s not the customer’s problem – if you offer A/C, you need to have the infrastructure to support it. They should clearly label which rooms have A/C and which don’t, instead of misleading guests just to attract more bookings. 3. False advertising in services: The amenities listed include “toiletries,” but there was no shampoo or shower gel in the room. When we asked for it, they said it wasn’t included. We had to send them a screenshot from Booking.com showing that toiletries were indeed part of the listed services. Again, shows a lack of professionalism and poor customer care. 4. Lack of basic services: No staff presence, no sense of security, and no one to turn to if you need assistance. Not even the minimum you’d expect from a guesthouse.

We enjoyed our stay at Happy Coconut. Friendly service and beautiful surroundings. Just one minus point because the wifi was barely working, as the signal did not reach our room.

I liked the resort in every category and aspect and therefore I. extended my stay three times in a period of 21 days. What I like in this place is the quietness, the clileanliness, the service of Maureen and the fact that she cares of everything without feeling that she is there. The quality of the facilities is perfect and everything I needed further stay was there and in working conditions. The resort has a common area with roof, tables, chairs, refrigerator where those who stay there could stay and socialize or like me usually working in the mornings. The location is perfect for sight seeing the island for visiting the capital or for going to the famous Ardens springs or Soda springs only Storing spring or the white island lagune. Near the property there are enough restaurants for brrakfasts of dimers.

The rooms are very basic. There was nowhere to hang or store our clothes and there was also no towel rail in the bathroom. There’s no where to sit to relax other than outside areas which in very bad weather is difficult, although the outdoor area is covered.

I really enjoyed staying in Happy Coconut. The location is very convenient between White Island and Mambajao Town, an easy scooter ride away. The rooms are surrounded by a lush green garden with flowers where I drank my coffee and did some reading. Maureen was very helpful and always there when I needed something or information! Thank you very much, I really liked staying here :)
