Pearl House

This is a great place to stay with a beautiful view and very nice rooms. We only stayed one night to take the train to Ella the next day, but I'm sure I'd be great to stay longer as well! Breakfast was great and the host was super nice! Thank you! :)

Nothing! Just be aware that the guest house is situated a little bit remotely up a steep hill, and you'll likely need a tuktuk to get there from the station.

The room felt cramped and hot. A Sri Lankan breakfast would've been very much appreciated.

Really nice and clean room with a kettle and tea bags provided. The owners are really helpful and the property is lovely in a really calm location up on the hill.

It was a quick walk down into town even with our rucksacks to get the train in the morning but the walk up is quite steep and we didn't feel confident finding our way after dark so this is just something to bear in mind. The instructions given by the owner to find the property for tuk tuk drivers was helpful and worked fine.

Very nice location - quiet and green. Walking distance from the main street or 5 min tuktuk. Very sweet and hospital hosts! I felt loved and at home during all of my time there! We stayed in the upper room - very big and full of light, great AC and comfortable bed. Fresh vegetables and fruit, amazing dinner after cooking class.

The water stream in the shower is a bit week

The house is beautiful and the location is great. We arrived very early in the morning and got offered breakfast which was not discussed in advance. They also facilitated a cab for us to get us to Kandy straight from Colombo.

The owners were absolutely great and nice people, prepared a good breakfast for us. The view from the location was also nice.

The room was slightly dirty(especially the bathroom), there was no AC in the room only a fan (we had filtered our search by AC), it’s possible that in other rooms there is, can’t say for sure. Also the location wasn’t great for walking if you have heavy backpacks(and surely not for people who plan to walk with a suitcase), as it’s up a steep hill, one can always just take a tuk tuk for 3-500 rupees, but we would have surely preferred a walkable location.
