Candy House

Despite the short stay Marry and Sergio were amazing hosts that were kind and attentive, even sending us off to the train station when our taxi broke down and was unable to arrive. Their hospitality truely made our stay very memorable. When we first arrived we were welcomed to snacks and drinks. Not to mention a variety of amenities from your typical toiletries to first aid kits. The place was very clean and well maintained with a beautiful view facing Lake Como where you can see the sunset, the property had a beautiful garden well. There was a fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer and indoor gym. If given the chance, would definitely stay again!

The owner was wonderful – he personally approached us during our stay and constantly made sure we were comfortable. They even left a generous tray of goodies in the kitchen, which was such a thoughtful touch. The apartment itself was spotless and had everything we needed. We also got to use the gym downstairs, which was a lovely surprise we weren’t expecting. The view? Absolutely jaw-dropping. It made the whole stay feel incredibly special, and we’d love to come back again. Key collection was about a 5-minute walk from the train station — very easy to manage since I left our luggage with my partner, but it could be tricky for someone traveling solo. That said, the process itself was smooth and well-explained.

The location is about a 30-minute walk from the city centre, and taxis in the area aren’t very accessible. We didn’t mind the walk at all — it was scenic and peaceful — but it’s something to keep in mind. The price point is definitely on the higher side, more in line with a hotel, so it’s a bit expensive for what it is.

The view is absolutely beautiful. The house was clean and orderly. Very peaceful and quiet surrounded by nature and bird song.

Very, very bad check-in experience. It took me 2 hours to find the office for the keys to the house because they gave me the incorrect address. The house is a 25 minute walk from Varenna, and taxis are not reliable. Also, in the pictures it shows that there is a gym downstairs, but I was told upon arrival that it is only for the owners. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, like sleeping on cardboard.
