WiFi is poor

Friendly and easy going staff, installations ok for a 2 week stay. Cleaning and security staff are doing a great job keeping the place. Receptionists were also very helpful with all requests and (very) late checkout that came at an additional cost. 2-3 min walk from the nightlife at the main Senegambia street. I would definitely come back.

Bed, pillows and internet can definitely be improved. While there are a lot of bugs in The Gambia and the room is well contained, you can wait some small bugs running around from time to time. Also noisy guests and blackouts can happen from time to time, but this is not probably in the things the hotel can control.

Good location and room. Staff are helpful, however this does not make up for the experience detailed below.

I could not check in at the appointed time (13 September 2am - 3am). No keys were left at reception and security staff could not get any of the management by mobile despite numerous attempts. I had to make alternative arrangements at my cost and time. I visited the site later in the afternoon of 13 September to check in. I experienced problems paying for the room by card as the card machine had malfunctioned, allegedly. I got cash and paid for the room. On checking my bank statement on my return home I discovered that the payment had gone through and taken from my bank. I have emailed the site requesting a refund. Should I not receive it, I will start legal action.

I like the fact there were amenities around were very useful. One can just take a walk, even the kololi beach resort opposite was also useful for breakfast and the use of the beach.

The WIFI went down on us during our stay, no internet access for nearly 24hr. We were told it was a technical issue, but when the company arrived they informed us it was payment issue. This should have been checked before our arrival. The toilet got blocked on us. The kids and even myself could not use it. I informed the reception around 8:30am when I left for my meeting but it was only around 11am to 12noon when the cleaner arrived to clean that it got resolved. That was very upsetting as my kids needed the bathroom and it was unhygienic. I also mentioned it was an emergency before leaving. I would advise the owner to send a real plumber to check the toilet as it seems like this has happened before because one guy just came with a plunger and unblocked it. This will happen again to other customer if not properly checked.

Unfortunately the bed was broken and swimming pool was closed for maintenance. However, they’d arranged for us to use another pool at the hotel across the road.

The location is excellent for those wanting to be in the tourist area and have the freedom of apartment living instead of a hotel room. Building maintenance was helpful in addressing some issues with the room. Management was working with the owner to repair the apartment prior to other occupancy.

We stayed in Apt F2. The manager of the apartments in this building is not the owner of the apartment which is typical of many apartments in the building. (The front desk is able to coordinate with the owners). Someone stayed in the apartment for 6 months and didn't report the water damage to the sink cabinet which splintered the fake wood and allowed mold growth. As soon as we entered we could smell and see mold. The building maintenance was able to replace a moldy leaky drain hose and tightened the faucet - water was spraying against the wall when turned on. The owner didn't reduce any price for unacceptable conditions. After 11 nights in the apartment, where we sprayed bleach spray to make it smell better, we have returned home with foul smelling laundry from the moldy environment. We only stayed because we used the place only to sleep. If we had been traditional tourists it would not have been acceptable and holiday season is difficult to obtain other lodging.
