"Very good homestay style accomodation"

10.0

The short walk to the hilltop in the property for sunset is beautiful and you can see all the way to Bali and rinjani. The host family were extremely kind and generous, and the dinner I had was one of the tastiest I had in Indonesia. Room is super clean and spacious. Lots of privacy. Good Wi-Fi. All round great place to stay.

"A fabulous authentic experience of Indonesia, comfortable, clean, welcoming and hospitable."

10.0

Rangsot Inn is a gem of a place if you’re looking to learn about local culture and cuisine. You are staying on a working farm growing its own vegetables and fruits, with guava, mangoes and cashew trees right by your cabin. It’s only been open for a year, and Abdul and his family couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome and cared for. The coffee was exceptional, grown and roasted on the farm, you can be taught how it’s done by booking one of their experiences and making coffee from raw bean to drinking the freshest cup you’ll ever have. The family prepare stunning breakfasts including dragon fruit, papaya and watermelon, eggs cooked however you want, Nasi Goreng and more. Try the local Trigona honey from tiny non-stinging bees, mixed into fresh ginger lime tea. Abdul is happy to explain how life works for them and patiently helps you understand local traditions and ideas about life and work. The highlight for us was their evening meal cooking experience, where we were preparing banana flower (like chicken!) and green papaya curry, fresh corn fritters, chicken with sambal and more. So delicious and the best dinner of our whole trip. Abdul even climbed to pick us a cashew fruit to try off one of his trees. Beautiful shaded gardens with chickens running freely, and the gentle farm cows grazing between the flowering trees. This is a fabulous place to stay in traditional, comfortable cool air conditioned cabins, with Wi-Fi, in the heart of the community, an authentic local experience benefiting the village economy directly.

There was nothing we didn’t like, but things to know: you should expect to hear the calls to prayer from the mosques as you would almost everywhere in Indonesia, and the farm is next to a small school so you can hear the singing and lessons in the morning, which end at midday. The en-suite bathrooms are modern and Indonesian style, which means cool water showers and basins rather than hot and cold. You can always request hot water for shaving etc. The traditional-style cabins are newly built with a veranda each, clean and comfortable. When we stayed the landscaping in the gardens was still evolving in some places with extended family members working to create beautiful low stone walls, and erecting a new open-sided restaurant building as an alternative to the garden courtyard dining area. But all was quiet and peaceful even with work in progress and you almost wouldn’t know it was happening. This is a family-run enterprise that will no doubt go from strength to strength and you’ll learn so much here about Lombok life.

Really cool place in the quiet town of Rangsot! Abdul is a great host who can help you with everything, from laundry to the amazing food that’s made in the town!

The only little point that wasn’t that good is that there is no hot water right now! But the water is warm enough to get a good shower and Abdul said there will be hot water soon. When this happens this place is a 10/10

"Comfy and homely stay"

8.0

Abdul and has family were extremely welcoming. They provided a welcome drink, snack and dinner. The room was spacious and had a comfy bed.

It’s close to the port but it’s situated in a village. Although there was no issue with this, just a heads up it’s not near any shops or restaurants.
